I was recording a video on geometry dash as you do, and i turned on fullscreen, recording at 720p60, and my games frames went WAY DOWN, to like 10. Recording is normally not a problem, for an example, Overwatch on Epic all maxed settings gives me solid 60 fps and recording at 1080p60 shows no change, and i completely don't understand how the game being full screen causes a problem, even when windowed. can be fine.
Full stats: Intel i5 2500k (its 5 years old i know) GTX 960 (that saves the old cpu) 12GB Ram
Nothing else really matters, 500gb hdd, very old wireless card, asus p8p67mb.
Thanks.

have you tried changing the priority of the window? task manager > right click on gd > go to details > right click again > set priority change it to something higher such as high or realtime. this trick usually gets gd running alot faster. Kryminal any luck with this?

Because full screen is a higher resolution, the game uses more of your computer's resources. Try lowering the video quality or trying a better performing screen recorder

Have you tried also other software, and do you also have problems with them? I watch Low Spec - he records games on the lowest possible settings on low end computers. He mentioned mirillis action! www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5HC119feO8 maybe it will be better than obs on your computer.
