Which one do you think is harder?
Straight-flying through a passageway one-block wide, or straight-waving through the same passageway?
Also, the speeds are both 1x.

Straight-Waving. I'm a mobile user (60HZ 5ms), and it's just so much easier to straight fly.

waving.
it's hell on your wrist to keep spamming, while ship is more rhythm.

Straight fly is really easy on 144hz, so I guess straight waving even tho that isn't that hard either

The wave has a lot of vertical movement, where the ship basically just cruises based on how you click.

Flying because i have 60hz and my mouse has a macro that double clicks which makes wave spam really easy for me.

Straight-Waving is extremely inconsistent.

Wave spam is cancer on the wrist and super inconsistent, while straight-fly is just rhythm really

Both types are bad for both the creator and the player. Straight flying everywhere just shows unoriginalty and a lack of effort for the creator and it can be annoying to play for the player, especially if they have a 60hz monitor. Straight waving is also the same, except with the added bonus of having the player's wrist hurt.

Since I went overboard with explaining this! Here is a TL;DR! I’m very consistant with Stutter Wave so that makes it very easy, Ship parts require a much different skill, no consistency involved, that makes it harder for me.
This is a simple answer from me but like most things i’m in the super minority. Just like how I firmly believe Deadlocked is easier than ToE2, (I will explain later why this isn’t a random opinion plug.) Stutter Waving is much easier than Straight Flying. If you asked me to Straight Fly for 20 regular block spaces on 1x speed, I would probably quit. I cant do straight fly for shit. If you asked the same with wave I could do it easy. Ive actually tested myself many times with this exact question. Every single time it’s the wave thats far easier. It seems the biggest reason why is because the way I play. I play on mobile, and that alone makes straight flying hard, but I can do the near exact same space in between waves for a long time. I’m very consistant just not good at reading whats ahead in caparison to where I am. Funny enough the reason that most people give on why Stutter Wave is harder is because it hurts their hand/writst. I’m the polar opposite, to do the exact same ship over and over destroys my hand, while doing a consistant motion is perfectly fine. As a last point, the reason why in my mind Deadlocked is harder than ToE2 is because of this entire Wave vs Ship debate. Since I can do consistant Stutter Waves doing the waves in Deadlocked is easy as pie. I masterd in in a few short runs, while the ship part took me many, many attempts to master. ToE2’s ship parts are a billion times harder than Deadlocked, while the waves are a lot easier and simpler. Thats why I think it’s harder, because the difficulty of just Ship and Wave alone make it that way. Most of my hardest levels, hardest parts are always Ships, sometimes Balls/Spiders since nobody can create a bug free Ball/Spider mode anymore. I went way too in depth... I always do. I have a problem with going overboard with my explanations.

I think straight waving is harder, I can't seem to pull it off at all.

Both are terrible, but straight waving is worse for me because it hurts my finger
