Gameplay - 15/33
So, let's start off with the positives of the gameplay in the level. I happen to really enjoy the amount of vehicles you use in the level. You use most vehicles for a good portion of the level too which I happen to really enjoy when creators do that. The usage of the mini portal in sections adds a nice touch and a nice flavor to the level which is very nice. The transitions in this level are pretty good, you don't end up dying to them as much as you would expect because of their location. Overall, the gameplay seems half decent.
The negatives on the other hand is what really hurts this level. The first cube is actually really annoying. This isn't the only part that this happens. The moving objects in the cube makes it very hard to see what is coming up because they come up so instantaneous which is a real problem. Let's move onto the first ship. The first ship is for the most part really fun, but the fireballs are in weird spots that it makes it easy for the player to run into which also happens to be a very big problem in this level. Finally, the last part I need to stress about is the last wave. The last wave is extremely bad. To start off, it feels extremely repetitive for gameplay which is a major problem, plus it is super hard, and then super easy. The transition into this wave is unpredictable so a player trying to "sight-read" this level won't be able to do it. This entire wave section should be fixed at the end.
Overall, fairly decent gameplay ideas, but the gameplay needs some work.
Design - 19/33
Let's start off with block design. Block design feels very 2.1 which is a wonderful thing and I am very glad about that. Design levels need to have good block design that isn't too heavy or thick which is a nice touch in this level. Another really well done idea in the design of this level is the background decoration. In the background, you can see everything you put which doesn't make this level empty which is something that every level could use and is definitely needed more of in today's 2.1 design levels. The final thing is the colors. As a creator, you do really well at color matching throughout this level which makes the level stand out the most.
Now, onto the needs improvement piece. So let's start off with ground decoration first. Ground decoration feels VERY copy and pasted. Let me stress about copying and pasting actually isn't a bad thing, but you don't want to over copy and paste if you know what I mean. The ground decoration doesn't also seem to match the level. You want ALL factors of decoration: ground, air, and background; to match in the level. This level does not have the ground decoration match at all. On top of this, air decoration needs work. Yes, it matches the background decoration which is a good thing. However, it doesn't seem like there is a lot of it which is an area for most design creators that needs improvement.
This is a wonderful design level that needs work in the background, air, and ground decoration parts.
Originality - 25/34
The most IMPORTANT thing about ANY level is that it looks original. Now, if you want my opinion, there is no such thing as a generic level, however, there are such things as similar styled levels. This level is not similar to anything I have seen before in lots of areas which is a good thing. That means that this level is a different turn on other levels so that we can see your own creativity. The design in this level is what makes this level mostly original, mostly fantastic, and finally, mostly amazing.
Now, don't think that originality is only based on design. While it is for the most part, I try to look for original gameplay, stuff that is unique. That is where I see the downfall in the originality here. I actually think that you have potential for original, unique gameplay. However, this level does not show it. This level ends up being really annoying for me in the end which hurts the potential of seeing the original gameplay.
Great designed level, but work a lot on gameplay.
Final Score - 59/100 (59% - Decent Level)
This level has a ton of potential, trust me on that. On top of this, I think you have a lot of potential. However, you should improve yourself one step at a time. I think the first thing you need to look at is gameplay, this is to see how you can improve yourself in gameplay and where your biggest mistakes are in gameplay. The next step should be matching all kinds of decoration. You already have what it takes to make an original level, but it isn't all the way there yet.
