So, here's the thing. This level has basically no gameplay. All it has is spikes on the bottom and top of a couple of the sections, and that's it. They're also invisible. If you are going to make the ground kill you, at least have some sort of indication that it will. Also, the spikes come out one block above the normal ground, so it even offers bad gameplay, instead of just the ground killing you. Now, unfortunately, as this level has those spikes, this cannot be judged as an auto level, meaning the gameplay will have a big impact on your score. Since the gameplay is the same all the way through, there is not much else to add. However, at 43%, there are no spikes on the ground or ceiling, which is unusual as the player should expect it to be similar to the last stage's gameplay. It then reverts to the normal spikes on the ground in the next section, though. Also, there's a secret way in this level. At 60%, since there are no spikes, you can just fall on the ground and breeze through the rest of the level with no input. And this is technically a secret way as the section you skip has the spikes on the edges. Unfortunately, this level does very poorly with gameplay because of those reasons.
Overall: I'm going to have to give you a 0/20 for this section. The problem is, there is only one type of gameplay, and it's just to not get too close to the edges. This does not offer any fun or interest to the level and is quite boring. There is no variety, and you don't even expect it to kill you as the spikes are invisible. Also, because of the secret way, I cannot really consider the part after 60% gameplay, as you can easily skip it. So, unfortunately, no points.
Decoration/Block Design:
Okay, let's move on to decoration. For this, I'm going to start with the worst sections of this category and then go into the good stuff about this level. First of all, block design. Now, since there are barely any blocks, there is not much I can judge. However, I am able to judge the spikes and the platforms at the end. Again, since this technically has gameplay and can be considered a normal level, I cannot exclude this section. For the final platforms at 89%, they are just the collision lines, nothing added on to them whatsoever. I suggest adding design to it. Find a block you like for the base, put it under the platform, and throw in some decoration! Block designs are essential for a level to look good! For the invisible spikes in the rest of the level, same thing. Add some design to it, as right now, well, they're invisible, so it's as little block design you can get. Block design can be difficult at first, but don't be afraid to try it, as good designs can make a level look amazing!
Let's move on to overall decoration. Well, there is basically none. There are clouds and different effects above the player, but I feel like these belong more with the custom background, however, I'm going to count these as decoration as you added layering and they are above the player. The clouds look pretty nice! The speed lines in the space section look cool at first, but later on they get cluttered and begin to all look like one solid line. Okay, time for the custom backgrounds. First of all, I really like them!
They are pretty interesting and look very nice! However, I suggest making the farther pyramids move slower, to add a feeling of depth. Also, the sun in the pyramid backrounds moves just as fast as everything else. You should make it so it follows player x to add a real feeling of depth. Also, the sun doesn't have a terminator. (The divide between light and dark), as it is the one causing the light. Colors are unusual as well. (The purple pyramids don't make sense if you are talking about real life. But they don't look bad neccisarily, just unrealistic. During the third background, I like the faded lines that move down. It adds a nice touch. However, they have a weird cutoff at the end of the section, you should make them go on for longer, as well as make the background go on for longer to add that realistic sensation. Throughout the whole first section of pyramid backgrounds, the pyramids were clearly copy-pasted, however you arranged them in different patters to give variety. I suggest for the second and third sections that you give them different backgrounds entirely or else you just have pyramids throughout most of the level. The last space background is pretty cool But you should probably make the Earth and Moon more circular. You can easily do this by highlighting the outlining blocks, and keep copy-pasting and rotating them slightly until it looks like a true circle. I like how you did the shading on the moon, but it can be improved by doing many, many, more, and changing the brightness in the HSV with certain ones to make it look more smooth, gradient, and uneven. (It's too complicated to describe, but there may be a tutorial, watching speedbuilds may help as well) Also, I find the glows all around them weird, as they have unusual spacings between each glow and seem out of place.
Overall: You need to have block design. Now, unfortunately there wasn't much opportunity to make some as there's barely any gameplay, but there were a couple of chances you missed. There was barely any decoration, if you count the clouds and speed lines. However, the backgrounds looked pretty nice!
6/20, -6 due to lack of block design, -6 due to not much decoration, but a couple of clouds and some speed lines, and -3 due to quite a bit of issues with the custom backgrounds, but some points for most of them looking pretty nice otherwise.
Sync:
Unfortunately, there is barely any gameplay, and it's nothing you can sync to, however, most of the portals did line up with sections of the music, which is a pretty important element. At 42%, you hould have a mini-section as a transition to make it sync up better, though. Some fade effects also synced with the music, but there was not much else. Unfortunately, I don't think it's enough to make up for the fact that you have no gameplay to sync to.
Overall: This is why gameplay is imprtant, not only does it make the level fun and interesting, but you are able to sync it to the music which makes the level far more enjoyable. Also, do not neglect effect and decoration sync, as it is just as important as well. 1/10, -5.5 for no gamplay sync, but syncing most portals. -3.5 for almost do decoraiton sync, but a couple of fading effects doing so.
Originality: 0.9x
Unfortunately, I found some things unoriginal in this level. First of all, the lack of gameplay has a similar aspect to the ship sections in sunset levels, although this is not a huge deal, the real problem is the lack of gameplay in general. Also, the pyramids are also not original either, and since that is a big part of your level, the multiplier must suffer.
Overall: 2.88/20 (14.4%) Needs Improvement
Unfortunately, the lack of gameplay killed this level here, this brought down gameplay and sync, two important sections of your level. Decoration was lacking, as well, although I liked the custom backgrounds!
Honestly, I enjoyed looking at this level a lot!
The problem is that I did not enjoy playing it. This belongs in Needs Improvment. Also, fix the secret way, as that keeps it in Needs Improvement no matter how much it improves.
