Name: GD World Mix Creator: matobia ID: 30881375 Song: -Clutterfunk Part 2- by Waterflame www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/685472Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vH1kAFdxf3A&feature=youtu.beGameplay: Let me tell you, the gameplay in this level isn't that good. Nothing really fun about it and it is filled with many awkward timings. At the very beginning, the pillar comes at you right away. You barely have enough time to react and I've died here numerous times, despite knowing that it's coming. There is nothing too exciting about this ball gameplay, the only time where it is tough is the beginning, though, so it's not too bad. The ship section is alright, however, the portal comes out of nowhere and it can trip people up the first couple times through. In the section, the obstacles come towards you, which isn't that bad, however, they start moving when they are already a third of the way through the screen, which is quite unexpected and can lead to some bad deaths. This is also an aesthetic issue. It looks way better if it's already moving right as it comes on screen. There is nothing too exciting about the cube section after. It is mainly just tap a couple orbs, fall down some steps, repeat. It would be nicer if you added more variety and made the gameplay come faster. At 34%, the platform is too high for the pink orb to reach normally, so it requires an awkward timing to get up, fix this. I suggest by replacing one of the orbs with a yellow orb. Also, the steps also require an awkward timing, as the first two are completely level with each other. The spider part is okay, but the platforms are too far apart in my opinion, so no matter what you do you'll always be off the edge, which is a bit too hard for an easy level. The cube section after the spider is primarily jumping over spikes, no variety whatsoever. Add orbs and different level platforms. The UFO is a bit too short to judge. The Wave is all over the place. No real clear path, you just gotta stay in the center for most of the time and you're fine. Add a specific, clear path you must follow if you are going to use slopes. The beginning of the last cube is actually pretty good. Nice variety, the only problem is that it still isn't that fun. Could use a bit more obstacles and tapping. However, it starts to go downhill. The long jump at 85% isn't that good and a bit too hard for this level. Also, the red to green orb directly after has terrible timings. I missed the green orb twice in a row. They are just too far away. Please fix this. Also, the next green orb you fall right on the edge, I would suggest adjusting it so the player falls towards the center of it. Overall: The Whole level is filled with boring, buggy, bad gameplay. I'm not sure if I can give you any points for this. The whole thing is just unfun to me. Sorry. 0/10. Block Design/Decoration: Alright, this is going to be a short section. First of all, there is no block design at all. Most of it is just solid colors. The rest is just the in-game designs. Also, these "designs" are based off GD World. Which, technically, they can't even be considered yours as you added nothing to it. Also, the obstacles at 64% are messed up. There are no inside corners. They are just the standard inside filling. Fix this please. Let's move on to the other decoration. Well, first of all, there are no custom backgrounds, which is an issue. Also, there are multiple long sections with absolutely no deco at all! And the deco that is used in the other sections are primarily pulses and glows. You need to add way more decoration. Spike deco, obstacle deco, air deco, custom backgrounds, all of that is important for a good level. This level, unfortunately, had less decoration than the original levels they were based off of. Overall: There's almost nothing, unfortunately. And I can't really give you even half a point for a couple one second sections with minimal deco, either, especially since they take from the original, and even downgrade it. I have to give this a 0/10 as well. Sync: Sync is a big issue here. There is barely any. No decoration syncs with the song, except the few pulsing objects scattered around in the level. A couple times a few orbs and pads synced to the beat, but sometimes it just seems like a complete accident. There are a few times where it comes close to syncing, but it misses its mark. At 57%, it almost syncs well, but it slightly misses by a bit. This is one of the only places where I found good, obviously purposeful sync. Most portals in the level don't even sync to the music. In fact, the only one that does is the slow speed portal at 80%. Remember, sync is one of the most important aspects to the level. You might as well not even have music if you aren't going to sync it to something. Overall: Focus on sync a lot in your next level. 0.5/5, half a point for a couple moments of accidental and purposeful sync. Originality: 0.5x Unforuntately, this level isn't very original. There are many GD World level mixes out there, and a ton of GD World remakes. This also doesn't really add anything new to offer, so the originality multiplier is going to have to suffer. Overall: 0.1/10 (1%) Needs Improvement You need to work on every single aspect of this level. Unfortunately, since it is a remake, and even a part of two related trends, even, it was never destined to get a good score, unfortunately. Plus, the original levels didn't exactly give you a good start, either. I suggest not putting remakes or level mixes in the judging panel, as there is an almost certain chance that they'll end up in needs improvement, and you won't learn much from the given review, anyway. I may check out any other levels you have later, though. I'd love to see what you can make if it's not a remake. Made and uploaded a video for you, by the way! Not tagging any judges right now as I still got a couple of un-reviewed reviews.
