FULL DESCRIPTION
The time has come! After getting an honorable mention and a demon rate in Viprin CC8 with "Mission MADISON", I got my moves to make a new level for my hottest school crush, Megan. This time around, I was planning to use a Zyzyx song in my level, and with ilrell cc1 jumping around, I set off to make a level for the contest and my previous crush (It's actually Madison if you ask me who's my current crush) with the song, "Zyzyx - Pixel Jungle".
While I was thinking of using Pixel Jungle in my level, I heard about the ilrell creator contest. I decided to download the song and plan out the level. I drew plans for custom gamemodes in my Geometry Dash planning notepad. At the same time, I had Megan in my mind, so I also wanted to dedicate the level to Megan. I also viewed the winning Viprin CC8 entry, Volt by Kips, and that gave me inspiration for new tilesets!
Over a span of one month (due to other things to do), I built Operation Megan, even during my summer music lessons and my recital concert! (Don't worry, I didn't actually waste my lesson just to work on my level). I started work on it in April 2017, just after Mission MADISON got featured. Now that it's here, are you ready to take on the "operation"?
ALL THE GAMEMODES I MADE
Three custom gamemodes are implemented into Operation Megan, as with Mission MADISON having two custom gamemodes. Here are they, with instructions.
The Springboard
It's the gamemode that is based on "Trigonometry" from Dash Till Puff! and "Bouncing Ball", an app by Ketchapp. The Springboard forces itself down upon tapping, but bounces up when it hits the ground. Really simple, huh? But it isn't - there's a lot of places where you need to stay low, so jitterclick at these moments!
Fun Fact: The gamemode was originally planned for a cancelled sequel to my first Kips-styled level "ShowTime".
The Train
You cannot do anything in this gamemode, like jumping or switching gravity by tapping. Fortunately, you have the chance to switch train tracks, elevators, and passages. You can tap to toggle red and blue train obstacles. If the (disabled) mark appears on the "Tap To Switch" dashboard, just tapping won't switch the tracks. This is a bug-prevention measure.
Fun Fact: I originally thought of making actual train tracks in the level, but I rejected the idea, since that would be too hard to do. Also, another fun fact: I also planned rolling boulders as obstacles, but I replaced them with monsters and other obstacles.
The Bird
It's my interpretation of Jeyzor's "Snake Gamemode" (fanmade) which may also be a gameplay choice for the new 2.2 mode. Unfortunately, I used the Swing Copter mechanics with the 2.2 mode (Drone?) in Mission MADISON, so I need to think of another gamemode which could do the trick. After looking at "Don't Touch the Spikes" on Google Play, I decided that a Bird would be the best replacement. Tap and hold to go up, and release to go straight. Then hold to go down, and release to go straight again.
WARNING: I tried my best to match the wave's hit boxes in this gamemode. The wave is the base for the gamemode, so the bird's hitboxes may be inaccurate.
Fun Fact: Originally, I designed the bird based on its design in Don't Touch the Spikes. I changed it though to resemble the design less.
Known bugs: There's currently one, and it's an issue with the loading screen at the end. It's the same group I used for the drop, but I moved it with move triggers to the end to save objects. It's a bug on RobTop's behalf, and I think it only happened to me on Android. Be careful!
