I was making a list that took 20 minutes and while researching with the thread open I came back to see that my hold thread got deleted I'm really sick of that shit! This hasn't happened 3 times already it needs to stop!

Unfortunately, there's probably no way to recover it once you accidentally close it. "Enabling Drafts" won't exactly work, since they only save the posts.
Next time, I suggest you keep a backup of the list everytime you make one, so that in case it gets deleted, you still have a backup and just repost it again.

There isn't a way to revert that but if you're making a really long post (like a guide or list), I suggest copying the text into a .txt file or even on Pastebin if you feel like it. This way you won't have to worry that your time will get into waste.

Put the list into an alternate app (notes, notability, word, etc) and once youre finished, paste it to a thread.

Any time you are creating a long list or post, always type it in a separate application like Notepad, Notepad++, or Google Docs, then copy+paste it when creating a thread, then you can go to BBCode to correctly format, and make sure to enable drafts, as that's often a help in every situation, even smaller posts.
