Hello, Ezel's here again. Before I start, I'd like to apologize for my recent inactivity. I was busy with High School, as I'm getting more and more close to the end, and I felt really burnt out recently. That's why I wasn't very active in the News Team.
Anyway, today's news cast will be about an unknown player and creator. I know it happened around 3 weeks ago, but I didn't see anyone mentioning about this on the forums and it was pretty much unknown on YT either, so there might be a possibility a few of you already saw the videos. I wanted to mention it, because not very many people knew about that. Unfortunately, this time we have some really sad news.
Recently we have found some info about a fairly unkown player called DonutCopper. He used to be a creator and a player, however early March was his last moment in GD, and even in his life.
Who's DonutCopper?
DonutCopper was an unknown player and creator with decent stats and 2 Creator Points. He also has a YouTube channel with only ~70 subscribers. He was a pretty good creator, however with only 2 CP and his only rated level being "Burn" (Harder 6*).
He was a close friend of another GD player called "Weenie" (WeenieGD on YouTube). They used to help each other and DonutCopper used to create various levels, from his only rated level, to a silly taco bossfight. He was doing well and he could eventually be a fairly popular player, but unfortunately it never happened.
So what happened, we ask?
Around middle March, his friend - Weenie, has annouced sad news on his profile: LINK
By looking on his profile status, he announced that his friend fell victim of a car accident. This stressed his friend a lot, and it severly affected the GD carrer of his friend. Unfortunately later he posted another status: LINK
In this update he mentioned that DonutCopper didn't manage to survive the car accident, which pushed his carrer, and even his life to an end. This caused a breakdown to his friend, because he didn't know he will lose his friend so quickly.
A few days later, Weenie has uploaded a video with further explanations about the situation:

In short: his friend has died in a car accident due to an 21 years old driver who was driving a truck on drugs (heroin in this cause). This severly injured his body which eventually caused his death. This caused Weenie to think about leaving the GD community, because his friend was the only thing that still interested him in the game.
As some extra proof that it isn't fake, there are some YT clips from a channel called KOBI-TV: LINK, LINK
While his friend still is a part of the GD community, we can't tell if he won't quit soon, because he's no longer as interested in the game.
I hope the person who caused the accident has got the right punishment and he's dealing with consequences by causing death of one human.
Anyway, that's all so far. Feel free to show Weenie some support, in his or Donut's levels. Let's hope he will be fine, even if some time passed from this accident. We also hope that he will also do well despite his loss.

I recorded this a day after it happened. It has now been about a week and a half. I was very shaky and random in my speech, obviously. Anywho, Donutcopper (Malachi Batty) was hit by a 21 year old driver while he was waiting at his bus stop. The driver was driving a pickup truck while under influence of heroin. Heroin may have the word "hero" in it, but heroin is no hero. I will never get to speak to Malachi again. I will never get to laugh at his jokes anymore. I will never get to see what amazing work he can do with Geometry Dash anymore, and neither will you guys. I am contemplating quitting Geometry Dash, but knowing Donutcopper, he would not want me to do that... So I am trying not to budge into leaving the community. But, Malachi was the only thing I liked about the GD community.
