I've seen a lot of threads asking for help on customising their options of their mini-profiles. If you don't know what that is, here's a picture of mine.
Yes, that's right, it's those things that appear next to your post! Let's start off with the basics:
Starting Off
If you're here, you must be trying to find how to change your settings! You may be thinking now, "Ziel, please shut up and tell us how to do it already!" Alright, look to the top of your screen, and press "Profile".
Next, click on "Edit Profile". It should be on the top right of your profile tab, but underneath the "GEOMETRY DASH FORUMS" logo.
Voila! Now you know where to go to edit your profile settings! Let us move on.
Your Profile Picture
Your profile picture on this forum signifies you, and people know you by that picture, so choose wisely. How do you change the picture you ask? Well, here are a few options.
1) Use your default avatar. Possibly the least popular option, by clicking on "Edit Avatar" you can access a very simple character customisation menu. When you're done, click "save avatar" and you're all set!
2) Use only the Uploaded/Linked. This is possibly the most used one on the forums. Highly customisable, you can use your favourite cartoon character, your in-game icon or even a logo of a show, anything goes as long as it abides to the forum rules! Click on Upload/Link to change it.
Note: If you are planning to use the Link function, please make sure the link ends with a file format extension and only includes the picture. Also, please make sure the picture is not from a malicious source.
The formats .gif, .jpeg, .jpg and .png are accepted, and a size equal to or larger than 150 by 150px is recommended.
3) Combined. This is basically the above two, but the uploaded acts as the profile background instead for the miniprofile. Therefore, it is too similar to the above two to warrant an extra explanation.
4) None. Feel free to go back to the default setting if you're feeling nostalgic!
Display Name
Now, display names are not necessarily part of the mini-profile customisations, but it can help sometimes. For example, the member "themeaningfulgd" has their display name set as "Ruffy", and so as a result, their posts will be written by the author "Ruffy", and the name will show up on their miniprofiles. To edit your display name, simply click on "Personal" in your profile settings.
At the top of the tab should be your current display name. This is also where you change capitalisation of your name and maybe your entire name in general. Be sure to keep it close to your in-game name, or you might be warned!
The Mini-Profile Itself
Now, scroll to the bottom of the screen. What do you see? Well, normally you'd see this:
If this really appears, please try refreshing your page!
This should be what appears once you refresh.
For this, we'll do it step by step. Please note that all colours are in hexadecimal code, just without the "#".
(Note: If this doesn't work, a template will be provided for mini-profile background and for mini-profile name & text you can just type in the hexadecimal code without the "#".)
Mini-Profile Background
Click on the text box, and a window should appear. The "Background Color" setting will only matter if you will not be using a picture as your mini-profile background. The "Background Image" works exactly like linking your profile pic, please read the section if you haven't already and still do not understand.
TEMPLATE: {"image":"https://examplelink.com/example.png","color":"ffffff"}
Mini-Profile Name & Text Color
This changes your display name, rank and status' colours on the mini-profile, which in the example picture is the red "Ziel". Once you click on the blanks to fill it in, a window should appear.
The bar on the right changes the colour's hue and the square on the left changes brightness and saturation. That square on the right shows how your colour looks like, and the Hex blank obviously shows the hexadecimal code for the colour. You may fill in that blank by yourself if you already have a colour in mind.
Keep in mind Name and Text are in different blanks and can be made separate, so if you have a good colour combo, definitely try it out and see how it looks!
Extra Details
On top and below the mini-profile settings are extra details you may fill in, such as how many creator points you have, what role do you partake in mostly in the game, and more. Your status may also be changed in this screen, but if you want to change it without going into options, you may do it when you click on your profile tab.
Your signature is the text that shows below your post, and you may use it for showing off a YouTube video, level, whatever you want as long as it abides by the forum rules and isn't too large.
Have fun messing about with your mini-profile!
