So I've been looking through old lists and old ideas and stuff, and I would state my opinion on a subject, but I would get warned for necroposting. So, instead of increasing my warning level, I came up with an idea that might change this. *Note: before I start my idea, I would like to state that this is not a way to always get around necroposting, just for non-dramatic, intelligent discussions.
Reviving would be like necroposting but with no consequences. To revive a thread, your first sentence would have to be "I am reviving this thread". Then you would state what your motives are for reviving the thread. If someone spots someone reviving multiple threads for no good reason or without a reason, they will can get reported and will get double or triple the warning level they would have if they necroposted.
This idea is still a WIP, so any and all feedback is heard by me.

This is sort of already a thing, if you necropost with a purpose of adding to the thread you will most likely not be punished. Just avoid doing this excessively.

Like Acacius said, necroposting only applies if you're trying to bump a thread that has become irrelevant over time. Contributing to an old discussion that still has some life in it is perfectly fine.

This is a great idea but I agree with Acacius.
