Also, anyone who doesn't have drawing software but doesn't want to draw icons by hand can use Scratch. It's a coding website, but there is a pretty good paint editor there - just go to scratch.mit.edu and click Create, then click on a tab labeled Costumes. You can then draw what ever you want. When finished, just save your icon(s) to your desktop. If you need more help, ask me :3

you could also use paint.net, it's easy to use and free GIMP also. I never really thought of GIMP. I used to have it on a very old computer, but the computer is permanently broken now.

I'm not going to participate, but this is a really great idea. I hated the cartoonish style of 2.1 icons and maybe we could finally have some new styles of icons. I really don't like the ones with faces :/ Some are fine, but I think the geometric ones work better
