I've suggested this on Qualia and it turns out that these trolls all have a Mailnator account to register for the forums. It can stop the recent attacks that have been happening.
Note From Deltablu:
As repeater has pointed out, there are several users gaining access to the forums via something known as a "throwaway email". The name is self-explanatory, because as soon as the email is produced, a timer starts, and when the timer finishes, the email is disabled (thrown away) making it ineffective.
Some of the users in the past few months who have accessed the forums with a throwaway:
Ok Guys
Hamod
HETEROSEXUAL AND PROUD
Jesse/Jessica
VashyGD (lenny face dude)
A (franco)
KakiGD
{user}
xero
Glaceon also uses a throwaway, but he has not shown corresponding patterns of activity to the top above users.
Now, there are several throwaway domains we have seen, including:
mailinator
mvrht
housat
10minutemail
dsiay
If any forum member spots an email with one of these domains, report that member or contact staff immediately. All of the members I just recorded showed similar patterns of drama elicitation, argument initiation, and spamming.
But some are subtle, so how do you spot them without opening every single email?
There are a few key things to search for:
1. Sudden activity spike on forums
If a member suddenly appears out of the blue and posts in numerous different locations (whether the content is relevant or not) then open that member's profile. If the email of the member matches any one of the domains listed above, contact the staff immediately. Also, if the domain is not listed, but looks suspicious, then still contact the staff. Better to be safe than sorry.
2. Erratic signatures
If a member has a wall of text or an abnormally large signature, there is a chance they are here to spam/do weird stuff. Again, contact us immediately if this is the case.
3. Fake emotes
We noticed a few of the recent throwaway users ending their messages with "". This is one of the distinguishing aspects of these users, and is almost always a signal for a shitposter. Once again, contact the staff immediately.
Please take note of this, as it is the staff's responsibility to keep the forums a productive, fun, and safe place for GD enthusiasts to be, and we cannot allow that to be kicked around by shitposters.
