It seems to me like there's not too many good ways anymore to make a cube section unpredictable, varied, and most importantly, fun. Any suggestions? Forewarning: please no "Michigu trip'leb spike !!" jokes please. I'd like legitimate answers please and thanks

As long as nothing pops up out of nowhere and you have some reaction time, any cube section is good IMO. Also IMO it'd be better to take a bit more care with making mini-cube sections, because they're overall harder and can be turned in an annoying memorization tunnel (*cough*thatbadlevelindemonpack2*cough*).

To NOT have an overload of triple spikes, especially when they're at the end of a level. That, and: As long as nothing pops up out of nowhere and you have some reaction time, any cube section is good IMO. Also IMO it'd be better to take a bit more care with making mini-cube sections, because they're overall harder and can be turned in an annoying memorization tunnel (*cough*thatbadlevelindemonpack2*cough*). That's enough for me

Different and unique block structures. Not just repetitive one block pillar, that's boring. Also, everything that Ezel said above.

A lot of tapping to the music and no boring "I have to do nothing" sections
Block design and decoration veries between creator, so i'm only gonna comment about the gameplay.

- Music sync. Cube segments are a lot more fun when the jumps follow the notes of the music.
- Variation. Jumping the same kind of block structure over and over is boring. Adding different block structures and other mechanics makes the cube gameplay a lot more fun.
- Not unexpected. Good cube parts have minimal memorization and don't have too many fake blocks/orbs/pads, off-screen jumps, and unpredictable moving obstacles.

The main things that come to my mind are
Non-repititive yet non-random gameplay, attractive structure design, consistent and predictable gameplay, well-balanced colors, non-interfering decoration, well-mastered but not-overdone music sync, gameplay fitting to the level

Anything that's not just pillar jumping and hold-to-jump sections

some duals can be fun, but a mix between fast and slow speed, and orbs. Moving objects, and hitting orbs late are annoying but also make it fun sometimes

i'd say that gameplay that uses blocks in new and unexpected ways (not troll moving objects) is one of my favourite things. a cube section should not be just spike jumps timed to the song, orb spam where you barely touch the ground (8o DansGame), random moving object hell doom death kill evil cancer, memory tricks, fake line overusage, cancerous orb timings where you have to hit the orb at its very bottom and REPEATED. TRIPLE. SPIKES. also, fake orbs out of the screen are bad, i dont think anyone has a 0.000001 reaction speed to avoid them. i like cube sections where it utilises the blocks ans ramps to its full potential, eg gravity switching under spikes and fast jumping
