Hi everyone! So, it has already happened a few times that RobTop rated some levels that have bad decoration, bad gameplay or they are just joke levels. Quite a lot of people have been complaining about this, and I'd like people to share opinions about that in this thread. Now, what I think is that unless these joke levels get featured, there shouldn't really be a problem with them. Since, for me, a feature means the level is worth great attention, and a simple star rating is just making the level worth beating, so it has at least a few components that would make it a certain difficulty (so the level isn't completely auto requiring only one jump at the end for example). And what about you guys?

For me, a feature means that it's very good and it really worth its attention. And star rating is just for a decent/bad levels from a good creator. Some joke levels/bad levels that are already been featured should be unfeatured too, but should keep its rating so we can still get stars from beating it.

IMO, a rate-worthy level is:
- At least a bit fun to play - Has decent design or maybe a decent gimmick - Doesn't have annoying bugs - Isn't unfair
A feature-worthy IMO is:
- A level that people put a lot of effort to make - Is fun to play - Isn't buggy - Looks much better than a typical rated level Optionally: - Has a nice, unique gimmick - Uses nice effects (but without them being abused)

(I took these levels as an example)

In my opinion, RobTop features too many levels that aren't that great. It's been quite some time since the last time I've seen a recent level with just stars. Featuring levels that doesn't deserve it kinda defeats the purpose of featuring in the first place

For me, star-rated levels usually: A) Have some gimmick which is good/amusing but it's not a real level (remakes, joke levels, etc.) B) Aren't quite Feature-Worthy but have the potential to be one C) Are extremely hard demons that deco/gameplay-wise aren't good at all (Conical Depression)
As long as these don't get featured, I'm fine with them since a lot of them are basically free stars and don't affect anyone too much.

I think it's too late to do anything about it but I think having features be a much rarer occurrence would have made it much more valuable and probably would have made creators try a lot harder. I hope the creator of the week idea Rob's mentioned or whatever else similar to that will work out if it ever happens, and hopefully a lot of thought will go into choosing who gets recognized for those since it will give a much better impression of what's looked for in a good level. That being said, expectations for having a level being rated in general seem to be way too high now.

What RobTop intended it to be: Star = Good Feature = Amazing Level
What the community interprets to be: Star = Mediocre/Barely Passable Feature = Decent

Personally I think it should be:
Feature: Amazingly great level. Star: Either good level, or a joke one (woosteriuh)
