Hey there, everyone! Arko is back at it again with dem news posts.
Today I have a bit special news post for everyone. Since these are the community news, the main focus shouldn't only lay in extreme demon verifications, but we should also report news from the community! So, today I will explain the idea of the Project Alter Ego.
It is an independent forum about Geometry Dash that takes certain elements of the Geometry Dash Forums and spins them around.
The differences aren't small, though.
These are the key rules of the forums:
Drama is allowed.
Immaturity is prohibited.
Participate in executions.
Swearing is allowed.
These are direct quotes of the rules:
1. You can talk about anything and everything (however there are certain limitations as described in other rules), as long as it belongs to the certain board. There is no censorship. There is no one to stop you from flame wars. All threads are fully accessible for the public to see what your opinion/perspective is, but the staff team can not prevent any attempt of espionage by your government.
2. As described in the English dictionary, immaturity is, quote: "Emotionally undeveloped; juvenile; childish. Not mature, ripe, developed, perfected, etc." Our job here is to take out the immaturity right out the door. Emojis are not allowed (e.g. I just completed a new level!
). Whining is not allowed (e.g. Why won't anyone play my levels? They are so good! Waaaaah!).
3. "What are executions?" you may wonder. There is a "Reckoning Board" in the forum's Home page. In there, there are certain members of the non-staff team that are called "Executors". Only they can create threads in that board. If you break these rules three times, you will end up on this board. How it works is that Executors post a poll with a question: "Should [username] be banned from the forums?" and the poll answers being "Yes" and "No". You will have 48 hours to answer the question before the poll becomes locked and the decision is made.
4. We believe that censorship is needed for speaking dangerous things, not when swearing. This website is far from child-friendly. You can swear when expressing opinions. But, let us remind you - spamming swear words can be treated as an act of immaturity and you can get punished for it.
The rules are written. A domain is set. Now it is time for your contribution.

As it is based to be a community driven forum, I'd like for people to join the Discord chat and talk around.

In the public Discord, we can discuss about what can be the non-staff positions, boards and its sub-boards, and vote for the non-staff people.
We will also have an official forum for this, also on ProBoards. It's still a work in progress however.
