The community as a whole is very impatient. The fact of the matter is that it's been past a whole year since the last update. The main reason for this is because RobTop keeps adding new features to the update. Not every update has to have a new vehicle or a giant list of new features.
Before 1.9, updates usually were a few months apart. This meant that every few months, we got something new before the hype died down a lot. Towards the ends of 1.9 and 2.0 (Right now). The community isn't as active as it used to be right in the first few months of the update. Many players quit due to being bored or not very motivated anymore to build/play.
Smaller updates should be implemented rather than the large update every year (Or even longer). So when it comes to 2.2, I just hope it won't take a year (or more) to develop. That's just my opinion. What about you?

I prefer small because the community can become stronger.
If you don't understand, the longer the update, the more people that will quit
TLDR: Same as TrueChaos

I definitely prefer medium ones. Not small and not huge either. This way the updates bring a decent amout of useful and more advanced features as well as time to make levels with them, and the wait for them isn't ridiculously long

Small-medium updates like 1.8 are better. Smaller updates mean that they can be released more frequently, will have less bugs, and will be easier for the community to get used to as opposed to larger updates. That being said, they should still be able to provide enough new content to keep the game interesting.

Smaller updates are better because they are frequent and keep people from quitting

Smaller updates are better because they don't take that long and the bugfixing phase is much shorter.
