Don't ban individual words.
If your goal is to truly eliminate any gray area, the best way is to go all or nothing.
Also, I understand the concern about making this a youth-friendly forum, but really, it shouldn't be the concern of a forum to closely monitor and agonize over removing all offending or inappropriate material, because its the internet. You can't catch everything, and its up to each individual user and/or their guardian to make sure that they stay away entirely from areas where inappropriate stuff lurks, or just ignore it. The internet is built to express all ideas, both positive and hateful and all in between, so I vote for no censorship. (Though I do personally lean towards keeping an eye on posts to make sure there is no witch hunting...)

I may be in the minority here, but I don't think that "no restrictions" is a good idea. I don't want to see f*** or s*** be said in every other post. Not to mention that I think that this forum should be appropriate for all ages. It won't look good on the forum imo if its unrestricted For the third time, you must be 13 or older to sign up, and you also have to be 13 or older to make an email

I just want to remind everyone, That this poll is here and the removal seems to be winning the poll DOESN'T mean you can go swearing and censor bypassing right now. The rules about swearing and the censors are still in place! I have seen alot of censor bypassing and other swearings in this thread already, please keep from doing that untill there is actually make a change (if that happens, like Ian said: 'this isnt the ultimate decider'). Thanks Yes, but in this specific thread you occasionally need an example of a censored swear or partial bypass to get your point across so I think it's okay (right?)

Actually it would be a good idea to allow swears but only in moderation, this is also what I see on most forums I visit. I agree with Ian that if swear words are being used in every post it would look bad, and from people already bypassing the filter you can tell that this will be abused :v

Exactly so if they learn bad words that's on them for signing up when they knew they weren't supposed to, so just cuz they decided to ignore the rules doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to use their language

Sure, but nobody follows the "13 or older to ______" rule. Exactly so if they learn bad words that's on them for signing up when they knew they weren't supposed to, so just cuz they decided to ignore the rules doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to use their language I see your point, but a 13 year old would probably know all of the generic swear words.

Exactly so why censor? If you go to a public school you should've learned multiple swears by 3rd grade

I don't really think people would swear all the time just because they can, and even if they did, you could just warn people who swear all the time just for the sake of swearing Thats the whole point, when we remove the censor and swearing rules, we can't just warn those people on these grounds. They aren't really doing anything wrong according to the rules if they get updated. And when making something like 'dont swear too much' it is still a really vague and relative rule, which is the same problem we are dealing with right now (the censor bypassing). Then decide by staff vote, if you must. If it's hard to decide if someone should be warned, take a vote.
