Also keep in mind CHILDREN are here, so be considerate I heard plenty of swears in 4th and 5th grade. I'm pretty sure others have too. So I say uncensored.

I think swearing should be allowed, because people need to express theirselves, and most people can't control their anger issues (me ._.). I would only allow cursing to be used not in any way towards or to offend people.

I agree with spikejumper2, the first option sounds overly constricting but whatever, I guess. Too late to change the poll now.
I voted for no swears at all; personally I dislike it when people swear a lot and how the swears are used. Most of the common swear words can be used as a noun, adjective and verb (and propbably more) and I find it's just an excuse for lazy people to not think. There's always a better, less profane alternative to each of the swear words and not only will most people appreciate you more for them, you're describing your feelings and intention much more accurately. But instead, people take the easy way out and just swear all the time.
I don't even know why everyone swears so much; is it just a habit that everyone's gotten into, or is it because everyone does it and you want to fit in, or you feel more mature using this "adult" language? It really confuses me, and I would really like to know why everyone does it so often despite the pros of using alternative words. The English vocaubulary is quite extensive, you know.

This is one thing I still don't understand, there's no such thing as "adult language" and "bad words" Well, they aren't one of the first words taught to you as a kid, and your parents probably wouldn't let you use them around the house for some time, so they're interpreted like a special set of words that only adults use because they're old enough to say those "bad words". And if no such thing existed, why do all sorts of TV shows post a disclaimer about coarse language and that viewer discretion is advised?

I'd rather have no censors tbh since, as many people have said, people just use alternative words/spellings that have the exact same meaning, like "sh!t" instead of "shit". As for the rule about swearing/censor bypassing, I think it's really only a problem when it gets spammed a lot or if it's used to insult/harass others, since it's usually just used as an expression most of the time. And if that's the case, those posts can simply be reported for breaking other rules.
At the very least, we should see first how it would turn out if the rule and censors were removed.

Because people are stupid and demonized words either due to blasphemy or other reasons, the only reason my mom didn't want cursing is cuz I'm not supposed to be rude to other people, but I have been called a dumbass and various other "profanities" by my mother and other family members since I was in kindergarten. Like I said in a previous post, there's nothing that makes these words more offensive than other words, it's just that people were forced to grow up believing that for God knows what reason. If they were really that bad they would not even put it in adult shows so kids don't learn it, or make the use of those words illegal if they really didn't want people saying it

I don't really know what's bad about swearing. I mean, it's just too hard to stop. It's already part of the daily vocabulary for a part of people

I doubt you could create a more offensive insult/rant using conventional words as opposed to swear words, so that does make them more offensive because people interpret different meanings to those words. I don't know why they're in adult shows, maybe it's just become a social norm and actors just need to use those words because it comes out naturally or something. And swearing can't be made illegal because people would complain about freedom of speech. :/

You hear swear words in school anyways. To be honest it doesn't really matter. It depends on how you use the swear words. Most of the time, I only swear as part of my expression and I swear to put emphasis in words, like "this level is so fucking good" for example. I rarely use swear words to insult other people. You see, it's not really bad, it was just made to look bad by culture I guess. The point here is, if you're mature and you can use swear words correctly, then age doesn't really matter. It's more of maturity. Most 12 year old kids are basically like that typical CoD kid who swears in every single possible moment, that's why laws were implemented like that. It's not effective, but it's better than nothing. I really agree that you can swear but not use it to insult other people. Because it's really how you use it. And I swear, it's really BS that people sh*t at you for no reason when you're using the swear words not to insult other people. Traditions and culture can mess up things sometimes, huh?

I actually voted to get rid of all kinds of swearing, but I'm not quite sure yet. I just see no point in harsh swearing, it often just causes unnecessary flame wars Not to mention I take almost none seriously if they swear in every other sentence, especially if it's pointed at me. But as I already mentioned I'm not sure yet. What I AM sure of however, is that we shouldn't do something in-between. I and probably most of the other staff members too are tired of vague rules, arguments over what counts as bypassing and what doesn't count, and it all just seems very pointless. So to be honest it doesn't matter that much to me whether or not we keep the swearing, I just hope we won't keep it as it is now, or do something other that also counts as in between, because it just doesn't work. Also, allowing "assh*le" and not "asshøle" is just extremely dumb. Just saying.
