I have used Fraps, Obs and Action.
Fraps gave me shit quality, and when I tried to record in hd I got lag. The options were pretty sucky too. Eventually I got sick of it and tried Obs.
So, Obs had very good options, but for an idiot like me it was a bit complicated to use. It recorded in good quality but no matter what settings I used, I couldn't record smooth 60fps (probably because of my pc). Wasn't good enough for me so I decided to try the 30day trial of Action.
I used the Action trial for 30 days, and I fell in love with it. Easy to use but the options weren't horrible like in Fraps. I get smooth 1050p 60fps videos and have used it for about 6 months, maybe? Action is a good choice, you don't need a magic computer to get good quality.

It honestly depends on your device and preferences, some people say things like "action is definitely THE best" but it's good to try different software out to make sure you're using the best for you.

I have tried fraps, mirilis action and OBS Fraps is trash, OBS is good (Best one for streaming) and mirillis gives me the best recordings (But meh streaming) Just my experience tho  |
