They are cool if they have effort imo ;3; People in the comments of featured old style levels are really salty ;3; Time to settle this argument I guess ;3;

No, they are outdated. That's like using a dinosaur old computer that can only play pong vs a modern laptop.

It really depends on the execution. Couldn't Let Go and Dear Nostalgists are both examples of old-styled levels, but I found Couldn't Let Go a lot better since the execution was top-notch and (ironically) it felt more nostalgic to play.

No, they are outdated. That's like using a dinosaur old computer that can only play pong vs a modern laptop. Actually it's more like making an oil painting today, even though you can do computer graphics.

They're good, but nothing compared to newer styled levels today. Old styled levels should stay in their time tbh. inb4 all the nostalgia blind people get hyper

I made once an old-styled level that used some 2.0 features. They're good and you can make them look nice if you're creative, however they feel outdated now. I'm bad at making effects, so I did mostly only oldschool levels.
They can be great, as long as they aren't as buggy as Dear Nostalgists.

If it has old design, it has to have old gameplay or else it's not good.

As previously said, it ultimately depends on the execution of the level. Sometimes the level tries to imitate modern design and others it tries to reflect older styles so it ultimately depends on what the creators tries to create in the feeling of the level.

Of course they're still good, it's always nice to see old styled levels that are new and well put together.

Honestly, it's very difficult to pull one of these off for 1.0/1.1/1.2 simply because of the limited options you have for building. I much prefer 1.6/1.7/1.8 style levels over the really old ones because they usually look nice while having enough options to keep it diverse.

It all depends on if the creator knows how to make a good 1.0 level
