BashfulNightmare Game-mode Breakdown:Cube (0%-17%): The first thing I noticed here was the sync, which is excellent. Almost every action goes to the song. However, the design here isn't that good. There was no reason to recolor the orbs. They look ugly since the particles stay the original color, and they put the amount of red in this section over the top. Also, the decoration combinations should be removed. The yellow liquid doesn't go with the red surroundings. The jump pads stacked on top of each other don't look very good. You shouldn't use the cloud with an outline, it looks bad here. The gameplay is basic, but good. The only thing to note is that there's a timed orb tap at 5% that you don't know about until you realize you can't make it to the next platform when you hit the yellow one that follows.
Ship (17%-27%): The liquid suspended in mid-air doesn't make much sense. It would probably look better on the ceiling and floor instead. The 3D effect looks really cool here. The decoration is nice, except for the combined ones I mentioned above. However, like the rest of the level, there needs to be more color variety. Or at least some different shades. The monster on the ground doesn't really fit, it just looks thrown in. The gameplay is pretty good. The sync is good because the song matches the flowing movements of the ship.
UFO (27%-37%): This part does at better job with shading. as the background is darker than the foreground and the blocks have a glow on them. Besides the fact there's still only one color here, this part looks more pleasing to the eyes than the others so far. The decoration is also nice. The gameplay is simple, but good. The sync is decent.
Ball (37%-45%): The shade of blue used here looks pretty ugly, and there's too much of it. However, the background is interesting. I like how it flashes to the music. The gameplay here is decent. The sync is great.
Wave (45%-55%): First of all, the transition to this section is bad. Always keep your portals visible. ESPECIALLY when you have very little time to react. The yellow is ugly and the rainbows don't go with it so the design here is pretty bad. The gameplay is decent and the sync is pretty good.
Robot (55%-68%): Like every other section, there's too much of the same color here. The gameplay is decent. However, there's a little too much waiting. One specific problem was at 59% where the green orb just comes out of nowhere and you have no time to react, which is very unfair. The sync is decent.
Ship (68%-77%): This part looks a little nicer than the others in terms of variety. The block design here hasn't been used anywhere else in this level and there's more varied shading. The gameplay here is pretty good. At 73% I would recommend keeping the teleportation portal visible or putting some sort of sign that shows there's one there. The sync here is decent.
Ball (77%-100%): Once again, there's too much of the same color here. The gameplay is okay. I like how it progressively gets faster. At 94% you can fall short of the last orb. And the 2.1 spider orb imitation is buggy. You have to hit it late or you'll flip gravity. The sync here is okay.
Gameplay: 10/20 (High-End Decent)The gameplay here was relatively good. It wasn't anything special, but it was still fun when there weren't bugs, like the self-made spider orb.
Design: 3/20 (Needs Improvement)There were some major flaws with the design in this level:
- There was too much of the same color in pretty much all sections
- The orbs looked ugly recolored and added to the overflowing amount of the same color
- The decoration combinations didn't look very good.
Sync: 7/10 (Good)The sync was great at the cube and first ball sections. Other times it was decent.
Originality: 1.02xThe idea of the level is pretty original. And though I didn't like them, the decoration combinations were as well.
Overall: 20.4/60LOW-END DECENTThis level has pretty solid gameplay (But try to keep your portals visible). The design is what brings down the score the most. The main problem is that each section is flooded with one color. You need to work on color variety.
