It was a while since I don't review levels, but I guess I will try to make it more often.
MY OPINION This level is good, I really liked the bossfight, but there are some parts that you could improve the gameplay. Also, the monster design could be improved though. A horn, some details, would be nice though. Music sync is nice especially on the bossfight.
DESIGN AND EFFECTS: 8.6/10 GAMEPLAY: 7.9/10 MUSIC SYNC: 8.8/10
FINAL RESULT: 8.4/10 Good Level

Why not go into specifics about what you liked about each part in general? I'll review this =P First ship (0:00 - 1:57) Since this level is all ship, I'll split this review into chunks. BLACK AND RED PART (0:00 - 0:15) These parts are basically just copy and paste with the swirl decorations. The first coin is difficult to see, and those blue gravity pads look a little buggy to me. Gameplay is at early 2.0 stages, so if you do improve this level, maybe add something to make it more interesting such as gravity portals or more block variation to make this part less bland. Music sync is OK with the pads and I like the effect of the blocks on top of the player. CRISS-CROSS PART (0:15 - 0:21) This part uses a custom BG, which is an average one in terms of custom BGs. There is some parallax going on, but the "crystal" block decoration looks really out of place with the rest of the level. I like the "glitching" effect with the arrows. Gameplay is mediocre here. Again, the pads give it some decent sync. 0:20-0:21 looks really bland and the pads are too spaced out, which means the switching doesn't fit with the fast kick beat of the song. CASTLE PART (0:21 - 0:27) I personally like the effect of the ship "smashing" through the bricks, but the effect happens slightly before the ship hits the wall, giving the feeling that the debris has teleported. Maybe move the spawn trigger if you are using one a tiny bit to the right (1 small editor step) so the effect is more aesthetically pleasing? The custom BG is copy-and-pasted but the effects with the "glitching" make it look OK. This part feels really empty to play, and some of the castle blocks don't have lasers on them for shading, which makes it look really ugly. This can be fixed really easily, it's just a mistake that anyone could make. ANOTHER BLACK AND RED PART (0:27 - 0:50)Essentially the same as the start, however there are some invisible speed portals which are pretty cancerous in a ship section like this. There is a large lack of gameplay from 0:44 to 0:46 as it is just empty space and the section is pretty boring to play. (sorry for griping) BOSS FIGHT! (0:50 - 1:34)I'll divide this into sections as well. THE BIT WHERE SLOPES COME FLYING AT YOU REALLY QUICKLY (0:50 - 1:22) The music sync here is pretty good, with the lasers on the bass wub and the slopes coming at you when the high wubs happen. The bosses look ugly and so do the slope weapons (huge copy-and-paste alert!) but so do -Sirius-'s bosses, so that's hardly a founded point. The custom BG is rather average. To improve, I would add some warning to where the boss fires the slopes and make the slopes, um, deadly. Side note: the layering with the boss on the left is off, the lasers go through his head.THE BIT WITH THE SPINNING BITS AND THE CRUSHY BITS (1:22 - 1:34)Nice work on the rotating objects, you can have a bonus point for that. Again, music sync is decent, but maybe make the boss fire the flaming blocks with the monsters on them? They look really odd on their own. Yet again, a lot of copy-and-pasting with the blocks with the swirls in them, the "monster missiles" and the "crushy bits". The custom BG is quite static, to improve I would make the custom BG "glitch" when it flashes. Gameplay is a bit pants. THE BIT WITH THE MOVING LINES (NOT BOSS ANYMORE) (1:34 - 1:45)
This bit's decor is actually quite nice, I like the bits on the sides of the screen. To improve, maybe make them move up and down? A custom BG would make this part's deco great and the gameplay is OK. The pulsing red is a nice touch, I quite liked that. THE BIT WITH THE NINJA STARS (1:45 - 1:56) Same as above, however this bit is harder then the rest of the level as if you hold for a bit too long, you will fly into the ramps and die. Still OK.
FINAL SCORES: Gameplay: 5/10Decoration: 6/10Music Sync: 8/10Bonus Points: +1 to final score5+6+8+1 = 20/30FINAL SCORE: 6.66/10DECENTOne more push and you'll be in good levels! How I score my levels: (Gameplay/10 + Deco/10 + Music Sync/10 + Bonus Points) ÷ 3 = Final Score Scoring System: Needs Improvement: 0-4.9 Decent: 5-6.9Good: 7-8.9 Feature Worthy: 9-10 If you think my thresholds are low, I'm pretty stingy as you can see. wish there was a level judges tag ;3;

Well that depends @themeaningfulgd if you continue making reviews like these then I certainly think so. You SOMETIMES during the review think the design is ugly, it would be nice if you explained and reflected why you think it's ugly as well. You can say things like: "design's color combinations are not that good", "colors needs to be blended more in 'cause they don't fit very well to each other" etc (however it's sometimes, some places in the reviews you explain why it's ugly, I just want more of this), but your reviews are still very detailed and nice looking as well. Great job and keep reviewing!
