This is a review of
Pursuit by
AUFrosty, Lemons, and
gdaenoixGameplay(3.5/4): This is quite fun to play! There are zero major flaws, the things that bring down the score from a 4/4 are minor things like some blind jumps, a few orb timing bugs, and the like. Some of the big plusses of the gameplay are that the transitions are quite smooth, there is a lot of gameplay variation so it doesn't get boring but theres not so much variation thats it confusing, and there aren't any excessively spammy parts or too much waiting. The only thing that
needs to be changed is the invisible portals in the orange ufo part with lots of gravity switches, you kinda have to know whats going to happen.
Decoration(2.75/3): The lack of copy and paste here is
astounding. There's obviously so much effort put into this, and it all looks so good as a result. I don't whats missing from it that would make it a 3/3, it's just missing that special touch thats hard to describe. But otherwise, it looks great, where each part is unique form the other parts but follows the set theme. Colors are great, balance of background/foreground decoration is great, there is never too much or too little decoration (except at that one empty space between the 3x wave and mini dual cube), it needs
something. Keeps up the good work here, I especially like that last ufo part!
Musical Affinity(2.25/3): The whole theme of the level (fast paced gameplay, and whatever visual style you have thats hard for me to describe matches the music quite well. The individual segments of the level are matched up to the melody/beat pretty well in most places, for example, that orange ufo part and the mini pall parts are perfect, though it occasionally could be improved in a few places. My gripe is that the level should feel more vibrant, though the last parts of the level do this well I feel like the rest of it needs more dramatic color changes, background flashes, etc. Bouncing moving objects would look good too, but they aren't needed.
Originality(1x): Overall this is a positive aspect of the level. There isn't anything that really pops out, so no multiplier, but the designs used in this level are more original than not, especially those near the end. Keep it up, the effort is worth something and people notice.
Overall(8.5/10): This is most certainly
feature-worthy! It probably belongs as a demon on the first, maaaybe second part of the featured list. Overall there are no major flaws and all 3 of you did great. Keep up the great work!
