I have been noticing that a lot of threads that encourage serious discussion have been moved out of general discussion to the lounge because it doesn't relate to gd. However, how can a thread in the lounge have serious discussion? The lounge is basically a nonsense lounge. I propose a section that encompasses those threads relating to serious discussion, or at least threads that don't want trolls or spam.

The lounge is perfectly capable of actual discussion. You can talk about anything interesting outside of GD, for example what is the difference between a memoir and a biography? (i have no idea) But many users don't treat it as such and use it to spam ...

Just for info Biography is a written story to describe a person's life, but is not written by the person themself A memoir is an autobiography written to reflect on the writers past usually it has a moral at the end  |

If it's non-serious then it can be moved to the Lounge. |
