So looking at various threads, I observe that necroposting is more common than ever. Almost all the necroposts I see are made by guests, and I don't blame them, because they are just innocent people that want to discuss something, but don't really pay attention to the post dates (it's hard to notice, to be honest) Since guests generally do not read the not-so-obvious rules thread, I suggest putting up a warning when you're replying to a thread that's, let's say, 2 weeks. When you're in the reply screen of a thread that's more than or equal to 2 weeks old, there would be a flashy banner that states "WARNING! This thread is (X) weeks old. A non-constructive bump will give you a warning." That way some guests who don't know necroposting is a thing can avoid that necropost. Of course, the time it takes for that banner to appear will depend on agreement and averages, but hopefully this suggestion will be pleasing to you staff

This would be great, but I'm not sure if it is possible with the proboards limitations. Another reason why we should make a new forum.

Guest: *sees warning* Guest: *necroposts thread, saying "Hey, this thing popped up on my screen saying that I'd be warned if I post here. What does that mean?"*
And you can't warn guests, you can only ban them.

What does that mean?"* And you can't warn guests, you can only ban them. Well, even if they don't see the warning, they would still necropost, right? There's no harm in adding a warning in case an aware guest actually sees the warning.
