This is a review of: Lucidity


Gameplay(1.5/4): The best part was the black-and-white ball part, its very simple yet has variety and doesn't bug and is fun. The rest of the level can be kind of frustrating to play though, where gameplay is either confusing or just buggy overall. Most parts were okay-ish disregarding that, but the ship and cube part in the retro-neon area kinda killed it. For a long space of time you do hardly anything... the concept was cool but it could have been executed better.

Decoration(0.5/3): The level never really had too much or not enough decoration, but it was ugly. There was lots of weird overlapping decorations, the colors often didn't match, or it just looked bad. For example, in the ufo part, the custom background merged with the blocks so the only way to tell where the structures were was by the white outline. Or in the ship part, the pattern inside the blocks is very weird-looking and the colors don't work. Additionally, the decoration was also very random, and had very few relating factors across the whole level.    

Music Sync(2/3): Though the actual gameplay didn't match up that well, the decoration matched it almost perfectly. For example, the subtle color changes in the ufo and second wave part. Or the way the blocks appear to the beat in the retro part, or how the bg rotates to the song in the black-and-white ball part. You've done well in that regard.

Originality(1.2x): You used a LOT of original ideas in the level, and lots of unique designs too. Notably the custom background in the second wave part, the rotating background effect in the ball part, the gears in the frame at the beginning, the appearing blocks concept, etc. However, most of the time it wasn't executed well so that denotes a smaller bonus. Regardless, keep doing stuff like that, bad original stuff is MUCH better than good rehashed stuff :)

Overall(4.8/10): This belongs in Decent (though its almost good enough for good). The level uses some very original stuff and has good music sync, but the basics (gameplay, decoration) fail to meet the mark.
