When will geometry dash die? By dying I mean when will people fewer levels uploading levels to the servers, level quality declines and activity becomes like this forums right now. I think robtop will continue updating GD for another 10-15 years maybe and he might delegate the updating of featured etc to community members. So it might be another 5-10 years after that before geometry dash finally dies. So maybe 15-25 years until GD finally gets died. That sounds like a long time but sometimes people keep playing a game for ages if it's popular. Like communities for some games from the 20th century are still alive.

I think robtop will continue updating GD for another 10-15 years Really optimistic on that one bruh. Mobile gaming is relatively recent so very few mobile games have even existed this long, let alone survived an additional decade on top of this. GD is charting unknown waters rn, and has its following, but I really can't see another 5 years of constant activity. The game already spent 6 of the 10 years it's existed essentially not doing anything. As a challenge game at heart, there really isn't much depth to the playstyle so it really can't carry itself too much unless as you mention, the community gets involved in the games evolution. Either way after another 5 years I can only imagine the game will be widdled down to a close knit community of dedicated players, and whilst the game will be "active" it'll just be a group the same people keeping the thought of the game alive. I'll gladly eat shit on this if I'm wrong; I certainly didn't expect this game to still be active by this point 5 years ago, but my confidence it will survive another half decade will keep going down and down

I predict it will die by 2029 or 2030. By that I mean activity (rate of uploads, rate of downloads, comments, yt content, etc.) will decrease below 10% of current value

Extremely hard to tell, the fact that we are effectively reliant on user-generated content since January 2017 with no major game updates having been released since then proves that the game could keep going for a while if RobTop were to disappear. That being said, that would also mean that there would be no new rated levels and no daily/weekly levels, which also play a big part in the role of keeping the game alive. The only real answer I'm confident in is that this will happen once new players stop entering the scene, and it is hard to tell when that will happen, since GD is currently larger than ever. Who knows at what point in the game's lifespan we currently are.
