nah, I wrote my own a lot simpler plugin (less code) that doesn't use keys (subposts are just messages with special syntax)

subpost syntax:<{outer post id}>{optional whitespace}{text}

it is enabled on my forum: shoutboxtestingasdfg.freeforums.net/
