Hello,
I got a small question:
Is there any way I can filter levels by the date they were uploaded, a lot of the 2.1 levels have super psychedelic bacxkdrops and loads of flashing objects which hurts my eyes considerably (If I play a level with a massive object count and a flashing background it actually makes me feel slightly sicky for a good 10 minutes after) so it would be nice to search for older levels because these are usually less object heavy and the backgrounds are way more tame

foreverkurome moved to GD Discussion, but if you have small questions like this in the feature, make a post about them in the Simple Questions thread instead: gdforum.freeforums.net/thread/45229/ti-serious-ask-simple There isn't a way to search for levels by exact date, but you can check certain search filters to reduce the amount of modern levels that show up. For example, you can filter out already completed levels, levels with coins (which were implemented in 2.0, so all levels before then didn't have them), epic-rated levels (the epic rating was introduced in 2.1 so levels before that only went up to featured; you'll still have to scroll awhile though since plenty of levels still get featured), and levels with custom songs (no levels before 1.9 had in-game custom songs so most levels you find using official songs are going to be on the older side). You could also try shorter levels to help you take breaks from the game so you don't have to look at the screen for so long, or try searching for themed levels that are "dark", "calm", etc so there's a lesser chance of flashing lights in them.

you can just use the recent filter and then scroll to the last pages. everything with an id number of less than 28360000 or so will be before 2.1

right but you can filter by levels of whatever difficulty you want, and presumably they're only looking for rated levels anyway in that case yeah, recent + star filter is your friend

Hello, just returned from uni and saw these. Thanks to everyone that responded. I was really struggling to find rated levels that didn't do a lot of flashing (even with recent filtering my success rate was only about 40%) the ID thing proved super helpful. I also found theres a list of all circles levels which oddly are a type that don't actually hurt my eyes. The ones that I can't play are basically the ones with the very object heavy flashing or glitchy backgrounds. Circles flash in a much less intense way.

i think that sorting levels by date uploaded should be a feature in 2.2, along with other filters/tags. there are more than just you that proobaly have this problem *cough nepesta cough* so this should definatly be someething added in the future.

When you publish your level, you could have tags like Modern, Design, Effect, Flashy, Low object, ect. What use would those filters be?

When you publish your level, you could have tags like Modern, Design, Effect, Flashy, Low object, ect. What use would those filters be? Nah, all those parameters are fine imo. Let's say the effect and design filters are added to the game. If they are just added by themselves (with nothing extra like Bagley said), they wouldn't be as helpful. I might want to play only design levels, but there are levels also tagged as effect that I don't want to play that get lumped in anyway - that's the point of things like 'not' parameters, they help people not only filter the things they DO want to see but also filter things they DON'T want to see. (Sorry if this sounds a bit off, I just want to make this point lol)

It would be very useful if there was an option to filter based on the year of creation of level.
