hello gamers this is human bitia back with a new thread yay
have you tried speedrunning any game? some people say speedrunning is easy to get into, but hard to master. i remember cheese (the SM64 god) got 1:09 in SMO in exactly 8 days of practice because he was paid $1000 for doing sub 1:10
for me, ive tried speedrunning vvvvvv. did several any% no telejumping runs and my PB is around 21:03 while top 100 requires sub 15. i like to speedrun this game because its short and fun. i casually speedrun this game just to kill time. maybe im gonna try sub 20 soon.

I submit a speedrun a while ago for the game "Spore." Recently I haven't had too much motivation to continue doing so but I may try some more runs again soon.

I used to speedrun certain Mario games like SMB1 or SMW, but I wasn't very good at it. Speedrunning takes a lot of time to get good at it, and I just preferred to try out new things instead of grinding one game.

Yes, actually, recently I chose to try and beat a game nobody plays called OVIVO as fast as I can. Since basically nobody plays it and the last person who did run it did that before the major update that took place, 90% of the skips or techniques I use are self discovered. I find that really cool. Level 10 in particular did not exist before the big update so I found every single thing in that level. The world record is really easy to beat. I had a bunch of big mistakes in 1 run before and still was on pace to beat the world record by about 30 seconds (wr is like 33 minutes something) but my game crashed at level 10 so oof. It's so easy to beat because the game is actually several minutes shorter now, despite the fact that the new menu adds a whole 2 minutes to your total time. The 5 minute level 3 was taken out and the 3 minute level 10 was added, so that already accounts for the ridiculous menu, but on top of that, many parts of the game are taken out in favour of segmented shorter levels rather than long levels that make you do the whole thing in 1 go. For instance, there is a pyramid themed level in the shape of the triforce. Before the update you had to go in the middle section of it, but now, that whole section is gone in favour of having 3 chapters in the corner triangles. This alone cuts out a whole 45 seconds. There are many other examples of this throughout the game too, however this is just the biggest one. I've been putting in attempts here and there waiting for a decent run but it's actually damn hard to get all the techniques that you want and it's super easy to mess up. Furthest I ever got was to level 6 where I then made an incredibly bad mistake so I stopped the run. This is level 10, which made me start running this game. At first I was only interested in doing this level as fast as I could, because it was by far my favourite level of the bunch. There is 1 mess up in all of it. I have found 1 technique since I posted this video that saves like half a second as well. This though, is a very very fast run. What pains me is that this isn't even the hardest level of them lol.
The time starts when you select the level, and ends when you turn into a dragon.
Also I'm doing this on my phone, which is interesting.

Personally, I don't speedrun, but I love to watch speedruns of certain games. These are my favorites:
1) Super Mario Odyssey #subhourgang
2) Portal
3) Hollow Knight
4) Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
5) Getting Over It

I beat portal 1 in two hours if that counts
EDIT: I've considered speedrunning DS3 and some other games. I also beat Megaman X in around 35 minutes.

recently i've started speedrunning celeste any%, which is really fun and would totally recommend as a first game to speedrun. i've managed to get a time of 39:03 which would put me at about 150th worldwide going by speedrun.com (except i can't be bothered recording one so uh)

I tried speedrunning Portal months ago, my best time ended up being 30:56.83. The very next run I was on track to have a sub-30 run when for some reason I fell back down one of the pipes and couldn't progress, so I rage quit and haven't touched it since. Done it for Hollow Knight just because it had achievements for doing so. Never did speedruns for other runs though. I vastly prefer gimping myself in other ways for runs, my absolute hardest being a SL16 +1 weapons run I did while setting up a twink build in DS3. Beat every boss in the base game and DLC. Friede and the Demon Prince made me want to gouge my teeth out with a plastic spoon. Everything else was manageable, if a little time consuming due to my lack of damage.

i speedran i wanna be the guy back when i was in that community, my best was something around 50:xx, which is pretty bad but oh well.
other stuff i did was: sm64 16 star, and super mario sunshine any% and infact the day after i got a 2:32:xx on super mario sunshine a new skip was found which basically made my run automatically obsolete even if it was bad anyways =/
