im not sure what my absolute favorite artist is but here are how i found three of my favorites
twenty one pilots: one of my friends from a few years ago was really into them. this was also when i listened to the radio more than like once a month, and they played stressed out a ton
linkin park: 'in the end' memes
animal collective: was watching a kamilia 3 stream where all the songs were replaced with stupid shit and one of the boss themes had been replaced with floridada
