Fav puzzle games?

portal 2, such a masterpiece

The Professor Layton series. Those puzzles were usually (*coughs* untying knot puzzles *cough*) tons of fun to solve and required some ingenuity at times to figure out the correct answer. Plus, the game revolves around solving a mystery with several sub-mysteries along the way, and that felt like a puzzle in and of itself.

I also really liked the puzzles in The Witch's House and Ib, although those were definitely more geared around their horror atmosphere than true puzzle-solving.

Portal 2 is an absolute comedy masterpiece.

Superhot. It counts. You can’t really play it by reacting to things and you have to keep your positioning in mind so it’s more of a puzzle shooter and it’s a lot of fun.

If we talk about more current PC/Steam versions, then games like Portal 1-2, FEZ, OneShot/Undertale (Undertale has just a few puzzle elements though) are pretty good.

About some really old games, then some Mario games (especially ROM hacks) had interesting puzzle elements. There was also a very old game called Sokoban (it had a few remakes), where you were a character inside narrow corridors which was supposed to put crates or light sources (depending on the game) to their spots. It started out easy, but it got very difficult quickly. I remember my parents trying to play this, and they spent hours on this, because the later puzzles were really hard to figure out.
