first thread in a while lol
I think many people will agree that Erebus shouldn't be worth the same amount of stars and orbs as The Nightmare, so I thought of a few ideas that could even that all out 1) Star and orb ratings
basically, instead of every demon being worth 10 stars and 500 orbs, Depending on the difficulty it has, the number of stars could change, and here's how I think it could go Easy Demon - 10 stars/500 orbs Medium Demon - 15 stars/750 orbs Hard Demon - 20 stars/1000 orbs Insane Demon - 50 stars/3000 orbs Extreme Demon - 100 stars/5000 orbs some of these star ratings probably might seem high or low to some people but this is just an example on what it could be This might cause problems, as there are some demons rated Hard Demon that should be much lower or much higher difficulty, and I know a way to fix that, which brings me to the next point 2) Lock Demon Difficulties/Give GD Mods ability to lock difficulties
You may know that when a demon is rated, people can add their opinion on what the difficulty should be with a button in the level's menu, which can actually change the display difficulty. That can change the levels difficulty. What you may not know is that RobTop can override a demon's difficulty so that it is locked and can't be changed by anyone Hello RobTop. If there are many troll ratings in the level and the algorithm somehow doesn't help to fix the ratings. Is that possible to permanently rate the demon ratings yourself? If you rate the demon yourself (RobTop), it won't be changed by your algorithm calculation based on the user and mod votes. Yea I have an option to override a demon rating if needed the way it could work is that a demon's difficulty stays at 10 or 20 stars until it is overridden by RobTop to change the stars. The only problem is that this may lead to levels being left out and rated 10 or 20 stars for a long time when it should be higher or lower. This brings my point in about GD Mods. The mods right now are only able to send levels to RobTop. Another thing they can do is have RobTop's same ability to lock a level difficulty so that it changes it's stars, and with over 50 people on the GD mod team it would render that issue nearly non-existant. The only real problem that would remain is star count if the game gets updated with this change, and here's my last point 3) if the game is updated with this, run an algorithm that will change everyone's stars to fit the difficulties
The game does know how many of each demon difficulty you have completed (search filters) so if the game gets updated RobTop should run an algorithm that goes through every player, checks how many of each demon difficulty they've beaten, and updates the stars depending on how much the player beat whichever demon difficulty. Anyways, that's my idea on how this could work

I'm sure many people have thought about this in the past and it seems a really nice idea

please never change the demon star/orb ratings ever because people'll just randomly get like 2000000000 stars out of nowhere and it could skew the leaderboards that way

the leaderboards are already fucked to all hell with hackers, so i doubt it majorly matters, but i guess it could work, and as for mods locking difficulty, im not too sure about that idea because some mods might find stuff alot easier than others and such.

This is a good concept but extreme demon star count..
100 stars is just way too much for ONE SINGLE DEMON

People who are playing Insane/Extreme demons don't care about star count, so it's really unnecessary (and still not worthy). Also, what's gonna happen if I beat Malware (which is ""Insane"" demon) and get 50 stars? Mods gonna update the difficulty of it and I'll lose my stars?

I don't think this is a good idea given the huge amount of hackers, they'd gain an astronomical number of stars by noclipping hard-insane-extreme demons.

However, those who are legit and are considerable demonslayers deserve the extra stars for their accomplishments. Anyways, the leaderboards haven't been updated in a long time, who knows if they ever will be. OT: I'm pretty on the fence with the idea. Demon ratings that fluctuate a lot would cause stars to change all too often, which can lead to a bit of frustration (e.g. milestones being involuntarily reached, people losing stars out of nowhere). I also doubt mods would be able to keep track of a lot of demons' difficulty without some seriously meticulous moderation, and some might not even want to. However, we should be rewarding those that beat harder levels.
