Personally, I think nine circles is harder, but I haven't beaten either so I don't really know. Their difficulties are very subjective, since nine circles' difficulty comes from the wave while forsaken neon is generally challenging through the whole level. Also, I play mobile, so that's a factor for my choice.

NC because it has more confusing gameplay and faster wave speeds. FN is more about slow and yet challenging gameplay which I’m personally better at.

I think FN is harder because of its obnoxious and frustrating gameplay. NC isn't very frustrating to play, and some parts can actually be sight read relatively well (like the first and only Ship part). The actual Wave part isn't even that hard. Ofc it's hard, but it's better than extreme obnoxiousness.
I personally find slower gameplay to be harder than faster gameplay, to add.

Forsaken Neon is harder, but a lot less frustrating and un-fun.

I saw a post like this before about Windy Landscape and some other level being harder and I thought the same thing. Most newer players (and non-wavers I guess) would say that NC is harder because of either the demon rating or what they think Nine Circles is. I have personally beaten both and can safely say that Forsaken Neon is harder. Nine Circles I beat around 11 months ago and it was my hardest demon and took 1600 attempts. I completed Forsaken Neon around 2/3 months ago and it took roughly 1400 attempts. At the time of me beating it my hardest demon was Purple Kingdom I believe. (Purple Kingdom is an Insane Demon that I think should be around 95 on the actual list.) Forsaken Neon has inconsistent, almost luck based parts and what could be the worst ball transition ever. While Nine Circles simply lacks a part that makes it noticably harder. This is all my opinion btw except the attempts

Forsaken Neon, as I have had more practice on Nine Circles, but they are both very similar in difficulty

Probably Forsaken Neon since it requires more memory while Nine Circles is almost purely skill/muscle memory, so if you are decent at the wave it isn't too bad.
Also Forsaken Neon has wave spam which is kinda bad

Alright here we go. Nine Circles vs Forsaken Neon.
As you might know, Forsaken Neon has replaced Nine Circles both in my "hardest demon" in the mini profile and in my legitness video in my signature.
So why do I think Forsaken Neon is harder? Well, there's a few factors that I'd like to share with you.
1.) Forsaken Neon has unusual gameplay FN has gameplay that I almost never, and I mean NEVER see. The stupid speed change-slope ship, the slope cube and the ball at the end are the most unusual. This makes you have to adjust to gameplay you have never played before, while Nine Circles has a fairly straightforward pattern and an easy to pick out music sync.
2.) Forsaken Neon gets more difficult throughout the level FN is very easy at the beginning (except for that stupid 3 second ship part), but as you go on to around 40%, it starts getting a little more precise and difficult, especially at THAT FRICKIN 50% WAVE!!!! It then drops you into harder cubes and waves than the beginning. Nine Circles has about the same level of difficulty all through the level, except for the first cube. Back to FN though, MY GOODNESS, the final ship, which brings me to:
3.) The ending The ending of Nine Circles is annoying, yes. I died there once and was devastated. However, it is very easy after a bit of practice. This is NOT the same with Forsaken Neon. The final ship is unforgiving and relentless, and very difficult to get down. I spent over 1000 attempts solely practicing that ship. The ship is full on endurance mode, to test how long you can hold out doing the same hard thing over and over and over again. The ending of the ship is horrible as well. A straight fly. 1 block gap in and out. I died once at the Nine Circles ending, but I died 15 times at the Forsaken Neon ending, once at 97% and 98%.
Nine Circles is very annoying, yes. It feels like once you beat it, nothing can top it as your hardest, but Forsaken Neon is just overall harder.
Thanks. --Blaze

Nine circles is harder but less frustrating than Forsaken Neon. I think the hardest part in FN is the last ship. Which is frustrating when dying there.

I think that Nine Circles is slightly easier, as it primarily focuses on a single gamemode instead of the multiple gamemodes that Forsaken Neon focuses on. Also, like Blazed said, Forsaken Neon has very unusual gameplay. The sheer amount of slopes can confuse anyone. All in all, I feel they are both quite difficult, but Forsaken Neon has the slight edge over Nine Circles.
