Hey. Ruffy here.
Lately, I've found I've been using the forums less and less. Hell, I probably only manage about 2 mins a week now. All the events recently have made me reconsider my place here. I guess there's still things that may appeal to me, but not as much as there was. The game's development has just been too much of a let-down, spiking my interest, only to disappoint me again.
If you cannot already tell, I am leaving the forums until 2.1 comes out, or if not soon, December. Nobody in person is responsible for this, I just feel that this is the right decision to make in my situation. The forums have gone downhill since the nonsense lounge came back. Now, I just see certain members posting in every thread with an unconstructive and useless post just to increase their post count. They also reply to conversations that they're not even involved with, make double posts when 1 would do, and much more. As well, there are still members who think putting symbols before their name is funny and will increase their chances of becoming staff. It's not going to. It doesn't help when you're trying to find an online staff member and can only see sword and tick emojis. The only way you'll become staff is by becoming an active and constructive member of the forums. Not by defaulting to "Nonsense Lounge" behaviour everywhere else on the forums.
The only truly nice people on this forum do what's right. I've made a lot of friends over my time here, and it's down to them that I'm not downright leaving these forums forever. There are <20 people on this forum who post well, respect each other and promote a nice image. I'm not saying I'm one of them. As is obvious, it's easy to quit GD, but not the community. That makes this post even harder to type.
Now, about some other things that I'll clear up. I will still be active on Discord, and yes, I will still build in megacollabs and finish the forum tournament. I will only come onto these forums to make news posts or judge levels once or twice a month. Yes, I will still lead the News Team. I have Discord. I won't use these to talk, or to browse. I'll just use them to do my job.
Finally, I'd like to thank all my friends here. You've been great to be with.
