The cube is moving, because there would be a shit ton of lag if the world was :P That one zobros level where you play stereo madness backwards was really fucking laggy on mobile, while my phone handled stereo madness perfectly.

I think the game is just a simulation where the player isn't moving and the obstacles are moving left by themselves, which would make sense having to dodge them ;3;

The cube is moving.
You can tell because of the trail between orbs/pads.

Had this conversation. In real situations I think the cube is moving. BUT in how the game works, the cube is nothing but a static image that jumps and rotates, and the level moves to the left, the trail is added when it touches a orb/pad

Based on actual reverse engineering of the game, and not just suppositions, it depends.
If you consider the level as a semi-infinite 2D grid that is stored in memory, then it's the player moving. If you consider the level as the graphical properties by it's objects and effects, it's the level moving, because the graphical engine finds it easier to process.

I think the player is moving because, in the end, the player goes into the wall and disappears. Also, the test mode in create makes very clear that the player is moving, not the level. Based on actual reverse engineering of the game, and not just suppositions, it depends.

Thanks for the actually technical answer.

Actually for the first few seconds of the first attempt, the player is moving right as well as the level clear animation. The majority of the level however is the world moving left. This gives the illusion that the player is moving

The cube is actually moving left, its moving too fast, it appears to be moving right.

Like I said on discord, it's neither, it's a group of thousands of leds on a screen changing color to display an illusion of what seems to be a 2.5D cube traveling along its dimensional plane

Then you could also say that the cube is moving in a complex pattern, because it can also be represented inside our brain as a series of bio-electrical signals. But I think that what the OP meant by "Cube" was the actual abstract computer object, and not its physical graphical representation.
