The best way to get the stars you need without affecting the attempts that much is by beating 9 star levels. Beat 9 of those, then beat a 5 star level.
Make your own "free jumps" level and make it as short as you want. Once you get pretty close to the required amount of jumps, just start jumping normally and not with the (insert word here).
