To avoid necroposting we should apply an automatic lock if no one posted in the thread in five days! (Maybe more or less.) The thread should lock itself automatically! (Well except forum games and other threads that staff wants to keep!) But... yeah what do you think about that!?

Yeah but if you want something productive to say after five days, it would cause problems.

5 days is just nope, maybe 14 - 20 if it's not a "Hot - Trending" thread? Trending threads would suffer from this.

naw, make it 30. If a thread has been dead for 30 days it probably doesn't have anything else productive. but we don't need this tbh

Even if it does become relevant later, mods can still unlock it

How guests will destroy this:
Step 1: Find out the new rule (If we say 14 days)
Step 2: Wait 13 days to necropost
Step 3: Wait another 13 days to necropost
Step 4: Profit

Problem is, there's is no logical, objective way of implementing a time limit for these things. Everybody will say a different period of time, and some might say no to it, like me.
There's nothing wrong with digging up an old thread to post something relevant about the thread's topic rather than creating a new one, except that's hardly ever the case.

I agree, however the problem here is that people unpurposely necropost and bring the thread back up. To be honest, I have never seen a productive necropost to this day. I guess we will have to stand the nuisance, since creating a system like this would further bring up problems.
