4x speed was already possible with the addition of moving blocks tho, I've already seen it in quite a few levels.

Okay, so a friend of mine showed me this video on youtube and eventually I tracked down this thread. So, I'm going to make this my final post on the forum, which is about this new speed portal. Now, I understand what RobTop is trying to do in this scenario, and it makes sense. He is trying to maintain the game in such a way so that it would be interesting for a long period of time, while also keeping it up to date. This isn't surprising, considering that most games with little updates to its original structure have mainly been in a state of lesser use over newer ones (but still played a lot, which is a key point I will come back to). The problem is, though, is that what RobTop is doing is, for lack of a better term, kind of unprecedented, and not in a good way. People are already complaining about 2.0, and I have to admit, I am one of them. The moving blocks made levels hellbent on memorization and made gameplay boring.( Don't forget about laggy levels) Since that is what makes up the game, everyone is bored and is leaving. The thing is, though, 2.1 (especially the new 4x speed portal) will only speed up the vicious cycle. As I said above, people are leaving mainly because of the reason stated above, which is that the game is no longer fun, therefore boring. I personally don't see the benefits of a speed portal, except for the fact that it could give rise to extreme demons. The thing is, though, is that levels will become twice as hard as they are know, and reduce the fun in the game by even more. It's not just 4x speed, either. I heard that the new orbs could potentially rise to a lot of new insane demons from RobTop himself on a twitch chat (probably teleportation), as well as the spider mode, which will give rise to more hard levels, and only benefit the good players of the community. Average players make up 95% of the community, so they won't have fun experiencing the update. Now, what RobTop is trying to do is keeping the game from being "old". That is, he doesn't want it to become out of date and be forgotten as a game that had so much potential but was never acted on. However, he is adding some really odd things to the game at the moment, and that will just decrease the player base. He should calm down for a while and just add a few new blocks, not more content, which doesn't necessarily equal for more fun. Take a look at games like Flappy bird or Angry birds as an example. They are very simple, but so fun to play. RobTop should think about the potential consequences that these drastic additions could have. Geometry Dash still has a lot of players, but the game will go downhill if RobTop adds too much of these. Made this post detailed because this is my final post.

Who woulda thought a single new feature that has just been announced a few hours ago without any really thorough explanation could cause this much of an uproar and a highly detailed post like the one above. Calm down people....
