lol my first thread on the forums.
as we all know, the normal/2x/3x/half speed in gd is not really proportional. 2x is not 2 times as fast as normal etc.
it is difficult to test for it but I found a way. by using a glitch, I was able to create a level that is exactly 100,000 blocks long. then, based on the level length indicator on the pause screen, I am able to give an estimate on how many blocks per second the cube moves.
slow speed: 199min5sec 100000/(199*60+5)=8.3717 blocks/second
normal speed: 160min29sec 100000/(160*60+29)=10.3853 blocks/second
"double" speed: 129min4sec 100000/(129*60+4)=12.9132 blocks/second
"triple" speed: 106min51sec 100000/(106*60+51)=15.5982 blocks/second
To put it as a ratio, if the slowest speed is 1, normal speed is 1.2405, double is 1.5425, triple is 1.8632.
Hopefully this thread is useful to people and feel free to point out any mistakes or suggestions plox.
Edit: I increased the length of the level to 10 million blocks and this is the more accurate result: Slow: 8.3719 B/s Normal: 10.3859 B/s 2x: 12.9139 B/s 3x: 15.5999 B/s I think this might be exactly 15.6 in the code.
Ratios: 1/1.2406/1.5447/1.8634 or 0.8061/1/1.2451/1.5020

can you calculate a ratio of normal speed being 1.000? thx 4 suggesting slow: 0.8061 normal: 1 2x:1.2435 3x:1.5020 quite interesting to see that the fastest speed is just 50% more than normal speed and that slow speed is barely any slower

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But seriously, that's amazing how you figured that out xd, nice job xD idk who's pannenkoek2012 ( ° ʖ °) www.youtube.com/user/pannenkoek2012He is does incredibly in depth analysis of Super Mario 64 and he uses what he finds to preform crazy things (even though they are tool-assisted) in the game. For example he has a 8 minute video on blinking in Super Mario 64.

thanks, this is actually useful for video editing, if you fuck up a speed portal while recording footage for a cut level. you can just slow it down to the respective speed. thanks for the more accurate results.
