so the new terraria update is out! what are everyone's thoughts and what are y'all terrarians up to? for myself i've obtained the zenith and holy cow its loads of fun to use and op as all hell, also looking for the new bosses atm but as more info comes out hopefully i'll know how to find them soon i've also tried my hand at master mode but i kinda don't like how much hp and damage everything does, feels too hard to enjoy for me so i'll pass on it. change of plans! i've asked my college mates to playthrough master mode with me so hopefully it becomes more bearable, and i can enjoy terraria for yet another playthrough

Just started a Master Mode world. I already know that Ghosts have to be the most annoying enemy in the game. Tombstones are ugly and I HATE THEM, but what's even worse is getting punished for mining them. Ghosts aren't Master Mode exclusive but they're really hard to kill.
Otherwise, everything is really cool, especially the background ambience. For example, you can actually see the Eye of Cthulhu flying around in the night sky if you haven't defeated it yet.
My only other complaint is that I wish Journey Mode was like Minecraft's creative mode. It's somewhat tedious to have to unlock everything before you can use it. People are going to make maps with it, so why not just give them everything right off the bat? Golf maps will be dope though.
Also, OFFICIAL MOD SUPPORT. About time. I can't wait to play Calamity with all the new stuff, it'll be really fun.

I have never played Terraria but have friends that are into it, so I might take a look later. Idrk though.
Sad thing is that there was a comment on the daily level that said "imagine if terraria 1.4 and gd 2.2 get released on the same day". F for gd lol

I think that's a good change, I got killed by 3 ghosts when a friend was breaking tombstones, as they appeared somewhere and didn't despawn for some reason, ending up with attacking me out of nowhere. About 1.4, I like most of the new features but my favorite part would be how much more lively the game does feel now. I think all the aesthetics improvements made the game feel a lot more interesting.

And I absolutely agree, the background effects, the new sprites, the wind, everything makes the game look so much more colorful and lively. An asthetic update alone would've still been worthy imo

Sad thing is that there was a comment on the daily level that said "imagine if terraria 1.4 and gd 2.2 get released on the same day". F for gd lols I'd be equally ecstatic (if not more so) if it were announced (as in, by Robtop himself or somebody else trustable, like Viprin) that 2.2 was _actually_ going to get released this year. We'd finally have something to look forward to... something at all. So as to not go completely off-topic, i'll say smthn about this update too: It's been a few years since I've beaten the moon lord, and after that I just kinda abandoned the game since there wasn't that much else exciting stuff to do (I don't think I knew about mods back then, though, but still). It seems a handful of other things (especially with this new update) have been added since the last version I played on, so personally if I have the time and motivation, I'll probably do like the ultimate final run of this game: all possible mods which add content / are cool to have, mastermode (previously did expert), and normal difficulty (or whatever it's called, the one where you drop items if you die, not only money) (although what I dislike about it is that if you die (and your items are at the place you died), and you exit the game and come back, the items won't be there anymore, not sure if this was a bug and it's now fixed (or not) or if it's supposed to be like that because that seems pretty annoying for when you have to actually go do something else but I guess it adds to the difficulty nonetheless). Oh, I'll also try something like a ranged/mage build since all I did previously was virtually only melee; for some reason ranged/maged just wouldn't work for me, probably because I didn't know too much about it, but I'll try to make it good this time lol. Also trying not to get spoiled too much on the internet, hasn't been that big of a deal so far.

and after some time all bosses are done! took 63 hours total but enjoyed it despite how brutal it was hardest part was the moon lord, took 7 tries before beating it, definitely brutal on master mode.
