I've been having a glitch on GD for a while now, whenever my icon is on a platform that moves up and down it will jump really high. The worst part is that it's completely random, and I just hope that if I get far in a level the glitch doesn't happen and I end up dying. If anyone knows how to fix this or is experiencing something similar please let me know. No matter how much I describe this to google I cant find anything

I believe these are intended physics - while the platform is getting higher and higher, the game will attempt to process your jumps, but they won't be at the standard height since your y value is getting constantly changed anyway due to the moving platform; this makes your icon jump higher because not only is the y position of the icon increasing via jump, it's increasing even more every time to jump due to the platform. Sorry for the lengthy explanation that may or may not be correct. There's a similar thing that happens to the robot occasionally when you jump at just the right time after hitting a pink, yellow, or red pad that's been around for awhile; it was a staple of many 2.0 levels. Rob's going to remove them and add a button to add them back for certain levels, though, so there's a chance he may try to do that for this issue as well.

I can't tell what your FPS lock is set to from the video but GD physics easily break if you don't play on 60 Hz, as the physics simulation code is only written for that one particular framerate (this is an issue that should be solved in 2.2). Even if you play on 60 Hz, when you get a lag spike, it might mess enough with the physics to have weird side effects, such as this one
