This debate is going to be pretty lopsided. The Lightning Road has basically no difficulty outside of the ball bug at 55%. The Nightmare at least has a somewhat challenging ship part around 60%, plus some awkward orb timings here and there.

The Lightning Road is harder. While both have gameplay of the same difficulty, TLR has much more memory to add to the difficulty.

Let's see. The Nightmare overall consists of 2*-6* difficulty parts, I would give it an overall difficulty of 5*.
The Lightning Road mainly consists of 2*/3* parts, but also has some 4*/5* parts thrown in there. If I were being lenient, I would give it a 4*. Overall it feels more like a normal 3* to me, however.
Yeah, the nightmare is probably harder.

Nightmare is pretty straightforward except for a cople of tricky ship sections. But in TLR u need to memorise the jump patterns. So TLR is harder imo.
PS: both the levels aren't worth demon. Nightmare should be 8* and TLR should be 9* imo

TLR has more difficulty spikes. So its slightly harder. The Nightmare is more consistent.

There is absolutely no way that TLR is harder than The Nightmare. The Lightning Road has a few parts with memory but overall there is a heap of space. The Nightmare, on the other hand is a bit more skill based and there are some sections that do take more knowledge on how the game works.

Okay, so The Nightmare is mostly like a 5* level, except maybe for that ship part at the middle section (we all struggled with that don't say you didn't (please don't say I'm the only idiot who died a million times there)). The Lightning Road is really easy aswell, but I feel like it has some less conventional (?) gameplay at some parts that might throw off new players. Overall I think TLR is still easier, but it might come down to personal preference since they're both similarly easy.
