it has been a while since ive made a thread in here
so like my school is slowly transforming into a hecking hypebeast club where a reasonable amount of people talk about these brands and stuff that make them look cool or something with the high prices like you need hundreds of dollars just for a hecking t-shirt from supreme
personally, im not really into those stuff because if im really into those stuff my parents wallets will always be empty and i like being casual not caring about brands
also i hate flexing wealth, so maybe thats why
any more opinions?

I think they’re kinda stupid and a waste of money for not much more than you get from a regular shirt or pair of shoes or backpack or whatever it is. It’s the same thing with jewelry for me too, my friend bought his girlfriend a $300 dollar ring, something that you don’t really need and something that doesn’t do much more than a $50 ring. Now he’s kicked out of his house, homeless and in desperate need of money. It really is just a waste of money.
Just be happy with regular things, shirts or rings or earrings or shoes that cost 10x more than regular ones that will do you just as good aren’t worth your time or money. If you wanna get something that looks nicer than a normal thing then just get one that’s a bit more expensive than regular one, you don’t need a nice looking $300 sweater when you can get a just as nice looking $150 sweater.

I gotta give props to Supreme for making such bland designs and being so overpriced and still get people to buy them. They're just doing business and I can't hate them for that

If the product is actually really high-quality then I wouldn't mind increasing the price but some corporations like Apple overprice their products even though they aren't any better than an average computer or phone. Thankfully a lot of people started to realise how scumbagy Apple is and they're complaining over the prices of their products. I know there are still quite a bit of people who buy they newest stuff, but people are starting to open their eyes.

I think it's dumb to buy brand name items when you don't need them. a) they're a waste of money, b) ego boosts aren't really healthy for anyone, and c) the item or brand in question is mostly just a trend and will die eventually, and if that happens then you've wasted your money, so you go out and buy the next great thing. The cycle repeats on and on, and before you know it, you (or your parents) are flat broke. You won't be feeling as cool as you thought you would be!
My parents actually look items over before they are bought to see how much it's actually worth, if there's a better price anywhere else, etc. so a lot of the things we have are either cheap in the first place or bought at a discount. I don't prefer spending money on much brand-name stuff (except maybe some shoes, but even those will be fairly cheap) because everything I need is either inherited or bought cheaply (except clothes, which nearly all of are hand-me-downs, and shoes because I don't get any other than buying them myself). Therefore no brand names.

If you like the look then go for it. I get that they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but some people like them. Like I recently blew ~$300 on a ASSC hoodie and love the thing. The design is clean, it fits well, and it’s something more casual for me to wear that isn’t a football hoodie
