I probably should have done this when Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald was released on Nov 16, or immediately after I watched it on Nov 19 before I could only go online for recreation on weekends, but oh well... might not grab too much attention, but here it is.
If you've seen the movie, what are your opinions on it as a whole? I enjoyed the acting performances of many of the characters, particularly the actors playing Newt, Dumbledore, and Grindelwald. I also enjoyed the action scenes (such as the opening scene of Grindelwald's breakout and one of the final scenes near the Lestrange Mausoleum in Paris, when Nicholas Flamel came along) and the CGI, which has been really very well done. Only complaint was the plot; it was filled with many details that could make the plot hard to follow for some, and some of the details could have been mentioned in the previous movie. The ending was also rather confusing to me and I had to watch a YouTube video that explained everything. It was a bit wild, but if it's for real it could actually make some sense: (link coming later, can't access YouTube). Can't wait for the next movie.
What did you think of the movie, or, if you haven't seen it, trailers?

The way they introduced Jacob back in was pretty bad and shows a huge lack of planning. At the end of the last movie, they had his memories erased and he started running his bakery, clearly not knowing where his ideas for his monster pastries and definitely not knowing who Queenie was based on his reaction to her. Then in the second movie, he just comes in saying that the thing only erased bad memories and he knew the good things that happened all along. That to me was pretty bad and it makes zero sense. I'm pretty sure they didn't have any plan for the second movie after they finished the first because of things like this.
The movie was incredibly hard to follow. Even having watched the first movie not too long before I watched the second one, I couldn't understand what was happening a lot of the time. There was a lot of plot points I didn't understand and a lot of characters that I didn't know who they were or why they were there. A lot of the movie had to get me to guess what was happening, and not the good guessing that makes you want to come back for the 3rd movie. The guessing that questions why on earth the characters are there and things. It makes no real sense on how Credence was a Dumbledore as Albus' family is already established in the franchise. Why does Nagini matter. She didn't do anything in the movie. Why does Leta matter. I didn't understand any of that. Why is that black guy there. Who the hell was that short grandma person. It just made no sense.
Overall I was disappointed. Instead of leaving the theatre feeling satisfied, it just left me confused.
