Guys, this is serious. Why is RobTop taking so long to even post the Explorers 2.2 sneak peek video?
And do you think geometry will survive till 2.3 if it's not already dead?

Did you start the game in 2.1
Robtop takes about 1.5-2 years on average between each update, and I’m pretty sure 2.11 counts as one, so expect GD 2.2 to come out maybe a year from now. Robtop also posts all level sneak peeks like within 1-2 months of the release date so you have a long way to go if you want to see a peek at Explorers.
One silver lining about this system, though, is that 2.2 is packed with features, so that when it finally does come the game will become a good bit fresher again (and then become stale like 3 months after 2.2)

*sigh*
Just, be patient.
It's not gonna take another year for 2.2, that's highly unlikely.

Updates used to be only months in between (1.2 only lasted 2 weeks). Updates shouldn't take as long as 2+ years. Even though I'm still not giving up hope for 2.2, I have to admit RobTop is kinda pushing it. OT: I'm not sure. I can assure you that he's not dead. If he was daily levels/weekly demons will not keep being updated. On average the preview for a new level is usually released around halfway into an update (Fingerdash was previewed in March 2016), but I'm really not sure why he hasn't made one for 2.2 yet. Also about GD surviving up to 2.3, GD is far from dead. It still has around 1mil+ players daily, and a (somewhat) thriving community. I believe that GD will stay alive for 2.3.

I started playing the game in 1.7 . From what I remember, 1.9 lasted a year, 2.0 lasted a year and a half and 2.1 has been lasting a year and a half with no sign of ending anytime soon. Yeah I exaggerated for sure but it took Robtop almost a year to finish 2.11, and because all of that time could have gone towards 2.2, and the amount of new features planned for 2.2 is immense, I feel my estimate of a year isn’t seriously far off. It’s going to be released December 2018-January 2019 at the earliest for sure.

Pinkie Pie bet yes I will change my display username to whatever you want if i lose so long as you change your name to “slick is my daddy” if you lose On topic: Why do people even want 2.2 to be out so quickly anyways? Robtop is pretty bad at coding so if you rush him he’ll create even more bugs and sloppy features than usual. I say just wait for him to make the best product he can, Geometry Dash 2.1 is still fun anyways and the community isn’t exactly dying.

He basically is following up on his previous patterns of speed when updating the game. I’d say about each update takes longer than the previous one, but that’s probably because with each update, RobTop just about doubles the amount of new features.
Just be patient. RobTop took quite a while to release 1.9, which as you know, was well worth the wait. He did the same with 2.0, which introduced even more game-changing features. 2.1 was kind of a letdown compared to all of the sweet stuff we got in 2.0, but hey, it still was a great update. 2.2 looks like it will be a revolution well worth the long wait.
Besides, it can’t take RobTop THAT to release the preview, now can it? He might be keeping the actual level a surprise, like what he did with most of Subzero’s levels and GD World.
The update itself might actually hold us until 2.3, because if simply how much it will literally change the game.

Honestly, I don't mind the wait for 2.2 as there are so many things in the game you can do because of 2.0 & 2.1, but I wish RobTop would post progress reports or something of the sort (kind of like his "Fun with 2.2" videos on his YT channel) so that we know what he's up to

"Just be patient lol"
We have been patient. But now, we've been waiting nearly 2 years for an update where RobTop promised on several occasions that this will be a smaller update than 2.1, and it would only take a few months instead of half of the game's lifespan. We haven't had any updates for around 6 months and the most recent preview was a blue dash orb that was immediately deleted (presumably a scrapped feature he changed his mind on).
People are going to be impatient because they haven't had updates from the developer for half a year, and we haven't even had a level preview.
Personally I'm not too bothered by waiting. I've essentially quit this game because Everyplay can't do anything anymore and my PC can't run levels as basic as Clubstep.

just be patient and play the game while the levels are enjoyable. Camera and random triggers will fuck up a lot of upcoming levels.
/s
I think it's about 80% done considering he has revealed a shit load of new features and the others are probably gonna be tweaks and bug fixes

Everyone really needs to remember something.
Robtop is ONE man.
His current job is to rate levels, have a new daily level everyday, have a new weekly demon everyday and make updates for a game all by himself.
Ofcourse it will take long

And I'm going to stop you right there. That excuse is no longer valid because the entire problem is that RobTop physically can't/won't do this on his own. The community has kept asking him to hire a team (Viprin can rate levels, Serponge has coding experience, etc), but RobTop has refused for reasons he hasn't even revealed. Basically, RobTop chose to be one man when he has the opportunity to pull together to help him with the game, so he needs to pick up the pace. I've already posted a full length rant on another similar thread, so I'm going to go out with the message that (1.) complaining with no context will help nothing and (2.) we've been patient long enough and RobTop has done nothing for us in months, we can't keep giving him second chances.

I mean, I don't have anything against waiting a long time but I wish RobTop would at least update us quite frequently about the progress with the update or give us a few sneak peeks, for example the new upcoming official level.

Well it's still important to acknowledge that he is one man. Just because he has not done much to get extra help doesn't mean he can magically get updates out faster. There's really no point to ignoring that fact, because all it will do is just make you more impatient. Is it really fair to him to pressure him like he's a whole team of people just because as far as we know, he hasn't done anything yet? Of course I'm not saying whether he should or should not get extra help, but he's busy working on this massive update right now. Attempting to acquire a whole team at this moment would only postpone this update even more.
