Hey guys! It's been a while since I've made an announcement To help combat spam accounts on the forums, we have made a few revisions to how our registration system works. In addition to restricted registration, you must put your Geometry Dash username into the request message box when registering for the forums, and send a message to our account in GD (GDForum). Hopefully this will decrease the amount of spam accounts found in the forums! Note: This (obviously) does not affect existing users as they have already passed registration Ciao, RyanAB

Good idea apart from one part, won't that spam the GD inbox? Making it a more time consuming task and a bit less efficient?

but spam accounts in gd exist too, someone will invent a bot to automate this process Any process will eventually be circumvented, but this is a measure that makes it more of a hassle to try and get registered as a spammer and might discourage them from continuing.

But some people can make extra emails to make more GD accounts. Then they'll make more spam accounts on here whatsoever.

This is honestly way too tedious, and I have a few reasons as of why I think that.
1. Way too much work. Around 5 - 20 people register daily, and having one person (presumably RyanAB) check and compare the messages sent to the forum account ingame to the username mentioned in the registration system, it would probably take around 1 to 2 minutes to accept them manually. This is only one person. Now if we were to apply this to twenty people, then the amount of time spent just REGISTERING (keep in mind that the staff have to deal with warnings and lock threads too) other people would be at least 40 minutes. This point would be less vaild if multiple people were behind the account but it doesn't specify that in the original post.
2. There are ways to get around this. What if someone uses someone else's account to get into the forums? Would they be banned? It again doesn't specify that in the original post. A bit more unrealistic, but what if someone deletes their forum account and wants to get back in? Would they message the ingame forum account again? These are all possible scenarios that could happen due to this registration system, and I suggest that you take this into consideration.
But remember, anything to stop trolls, so I'm happy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These are all possible scenarios that could happen due to this registration system. 1. There are a lot of staff members, so there will be some people assigned to manage the registration system, and the rest will moderate the forum. And also, sometimes you need to do some "sacrifices" if you really want things to be better.
2. This is where the "send a message to our account in GD (GDForum)" comes in. This is to confirm if the person registering for the forum really does own that account.

I sign up for the forums (mentioning User A's name in game and sending a message to the forums account as User A, fulfilling both requirements) and say I'm User A. I get accepted. A few weeks later, User A finds out I used his account to get into the forums and reports me to the staff members. Would I be banned? That's what I'm trying to say here, sorry for any possible confusions.

That sounds very unlikely though.
