So, you're new to Geometry Dash, welcome! (Even I guess you won't read this at first lol)
First, history lesson. Geometry Dash is a game originally developed for mobile, by Swedish developer Robert Topala (referred to as RobTop, RubRub, etc)
The original game contained 7 levels, all of whom we will come back to afterwards. The levels utilize the one-touch - or one-click - gameplay to control several forms of the player figure through hazards presented. There are seven formes; Cube, Ship, Ball, UFO, Wave, Robot and Spider, and there also exist portals for manipulation of the formes to enable combinations and gameplay that provides hours of fun! These manipulative portals are; Dual, Mini, Teleport, Gravity and Speed. Each of the formes listed above can use every portal to provide challenges and will surely be hard to master if you decide to start playing often.
Cube: The first form introduced. Concept is simple, click to jump. Under the effects of Mini, the jumps become smaller. Portal for activating is green. When in this form, the roof is not possible to touch and survive under normal circumstances.
Ship: The second form introduced. Another simple concept, hold to go up, release to go down. (Under effect of gravity, these controls are flipped!) Portal for activation is pink. Both roof and floor is possible to touch. Under effect of mini, ship becomes more agile and harder to control.
Ball: The third form. Ball switches gravity upon tap. Under effect of mini, the ball has no significant effect (correct me if I'm wrong) Can touch any regular surface. Red portal for activating.
UFO: The fourth form. Ever played Flappy Bird? Well, the UFO is inspired by that game! Touch/click to jump up, almost like the cube, in a set curve. Under effects of mini, the jumps become smaller, and under Gravity the jumps are flipped to go down. Can touch roof, floor and any other surface. Orange portal for activating
Wave: Fifth forme to be introduced, inspired by the game, Wave Wave. Hold to go up in a 45-angle degree, release to go down in same angle. Under mini, the wave movement becomes remarkably steeper and it becomes harder to control. Under gravity, effects are reversed. Light blue portal activates.
Robot: Sixth forme. This serves as a cube with jetpack, essentially. When you hold, the robot goes up, and when you release, it goes down. It has a set length you can hold, and after that it will drop down. Under effects of mini, the robot has less max hold time. White portal activates.
Spider: The seventh and currently last forme introduced. When you tap/click, the spider teleports to the next solid block, regardless if it is lethal or not. Purple portal activates.
