On Sunday, I had a chat with Baby Zobros regarding Geometry Dash League as well as a few other questions asked by the news casters. Hope you enjoy :^)
What made you think about Geometry Dash League? What inspired you to create this shockingly successful group for GD players?
Well, back in late 1.9 there was this a orginization very similar to League called Geometry Dash Racing which did what we did, level racing. One day I decided to join there Discord server and I asked if they were still doing racing. One of the staff members said no and I was kinda sad since I enjoyed the streams so much. I said I would revive as a joke but a couple months later Overwatch announce "Overwatch League" which reminded me about Geometry Dash Racing and gave me some inspiration to do the same with Geometry Dash. From that exact day I got started with code name "Project League".
How do you think the Test Tournament went? Do you think it was as successful as you hoped?
The Test Tournament was absolutely great, there were a few mistakes here and there but overall it was what we expected. The audience truely loved the idea and I can't wait to what the future holds for Geometry Dash League.
Were there any problems with the Test Tournament that you thought needed some working on?
Definitely, we gots lot of feedback from our audience both good and bad. Due to our feedback we will be improving the layout our broadcasts, event preperation and we will be adding some new things to help things go a lot more smoother during these events.
What kind of new things?
Don't try to be sneaky, I ain't saying a word. 8)
Can you tell us anything about what Season One will be like? Are there any new features you plan to introduce with Season One?
Season One will be competitive, hyped, and definitely a good way for good unnoticed players to get some attention.
With Season One we will be introducing a new point system, and the way you compete will be different from the test tournament thanks to people who submitted feedback.
Ever since you teased League, you've been growing immensely popular on Geometry Dash, especially with the Twitch community. How do you feel about that?
I think its awesome! I never knew League would take me this far. I've always wanted to be known in the community and know I kinda am thanks to League and its fans!
To stir away from the topic of League for a bit, the rest of the news casters asked that I ask you one question. Why "Baby Zobros?"
I get this question a lot and I've answered this in my 1K Special Q&A video but I'll sum it up real quick. Back in the Skype days of Geometry Dash a person named themselves "Mini Zobros" on Skype and I wanted to do the same on Twitch, but for some reason it was already taken so I chose "Baby Zobros" and I basically set up this internet persona on how I was the son of GirlyDash & Zobros and people started feeding me attention and of course being the attention whore that I am, I liked it so I kept the name to this date and it's been a over a year now that I had this name.
So as you know there's been a lot of drama within the community (Aurorus for example), and many people think that the community is a bad place to be because of all the drama. What do you think of the community personally?
The community is bad if you choose to see it that way, and people make fun of people who see it as a good place. Let's take Berkoo for example, in his level "Flamboyant" he stated at the very end of the level "I just wanted to say: this community is lit af. I <3 it." Lot's of people made some jokes about it and how it isn't true. I do understand that there is some bad people in this community there's simple ways to resolve the problems. Auro for example. People who are "friends" with him know he is nothing but trouble in most cases but they don't care. They have them modded in there streams and LET him start and encourage drama and not saying a damn thing about it. A simple ban will end the problem in a snap and this goes for all people similar to Auro. If it takes a Krazyman50 Twitch Chat rule book to end it then do it.
And that pretty much wraps up the interview. Thanks for being here.
Thanks for having me!
