I've seen a LOT of people complaining about the forums recently...and that led me to ask you guys what we can do to improve. What are we as staff doing wrong? What would you like to see changed? Ask any questions or leave comments here.
Serious replies, please >__>

Maybe improve your constructivity and maturity as an owner. That's all I have to say. I don't say that you weren't constructive or mature enough to post in the forum.

For one a good chunck of the mods are extremely biased and dont listen to reason, or the community. Most often listen to themselves and only themselves, causing a massive amount of drama that shouldent exist. As every member of this community knows drama is what is making this community cancercous, and is one of the top 3 reasons why alot of extremely popular players are or have quit. Also some mods are very inactive too making them totally useless in the long term.
Secondly please add a way to delete your own threads or at least lock them without asking a mod. Its incredibly stupid how if we want a thread removed we have to ask a mod who 95% of the time will ignore the average user or take weeks to look at it. Being able to do this would, yet again, remove a large amount of cancer, as when the creator of a post find the comments to be insulting, when they have made a post they don't want up amymore, that is outdated, or proven wrong, for example update news or a incorrect theory, (Even a dupe post too, that making your mods lives easier.)
That is all I have for now. Thanks for reading this if you did.
Tldr; Remove the extremely biased or inactive mods. Also add a way to delete or lock your own threads without a moderators approval.

See what they are complaining about and fix the problem "Forums are dying" "lol kys sh't forums" "Guys I quit Forum Community is cancer" "This Forum needs change" Unfortunately, things like that are the main things "People are complaining about", and it doesn't help us in any way. For as unserious as this might seem, things like that have been going on a lot, and that's why we want members to specify what they think could/needs to be improved here. C'mon, we don't bite or anything. EDIT: Got ninja'd a bit. I agree with PikaBlus second Point a lot, but then again, members could make troll threads at any place and delete them before a staff can do any action or save evidence to potentially avoid any consequences. And generally, the Staff don't take too long to lock/move a thread like in given example.

Not gonna name any names but some staff members seem very inactive. One thing though: can you actually remove reported posts? Even if that user gets warned or told not to do it again (which I have no idea how much it actually happens), the post(s) should still be removed.

There's more people complaining about the forums being cancer than there's cancer
The forum is OK as it is right now IMO

The forums are great, but a reward system for being a good person would be nice, and also a way to lower your warning level. I was warned when I first joined in like 2015 or something.
and ban auro if you haven't already thx

make mods active around the clock, whenever a thread needs to be locked it takes way too long for a mod to go online sometime. Now, I'm not saying you should stay up at night moderate a forum site, I'm saying you should get active people from different timezones so that staff is more accessible
also, staff should NOT be hiding their online status

For one a good chunk of the mods are extremely biased and dont listen to reason, or the community. Most often listen to themselves and only themselves, causing a massive amount of drama that shouldent exist. Can you provide an example of this? I've been on the forums a lot recently and haven't noticed this happening. One thing though: can you actually remove reported posts? Even if that user gets warned or told not to do it again (which I have no idea how much it actually happens), the post(s) should still be removed. This had just been brought up in the staff chat by Ian, I think it's a good idea and I think we'll start implementing this soon. The forums are great, but a reward system for being a good person would be nice, and also a way to lower your warning level. I was warned when I first joined in like 2015 or something. I don't know about the reward system, but warning forgiveness is a thing- it's at the bottom of the Rules page. make mods active around the clock, whenever a thread needs to be locked it takes way too long for a mod to go online sometime. Now, I'm not saying you should stay up at night moderate a forum site, I'm saying you should get active people from different timezones so that staff is more accessible also, staff should NOT be hiding their online status I agree with being online all around the world, but we can't just promote random members just so we have people for each timezone. I don't know about hiding online status though, I never found it really necessary nor understood why people like to do it.

See what they are complaining about and fix the problem Posts like this don't help if you don't tell us what people are complaining about and how to fix it and also a way to lower your warning level. I was warned when I first joined in like 2015 or something. Already possible via warning forgiveness (bottom of the Rules page) Secondly please add a way to delete your on threads or at least lock them without asking a mod. Its incredibly stupid how if we want a thread removed we have to ask a mod who 95% of the time will ignore the average user or take weeks to look at it. Being able to do this would, yet again, remove a large amount of cancer, as when the creator of a post find the comments to be insulting, when they have made a post they don't want up amymore, that is outdated, or proven wrong, for example update news or a incorrect theory, (Even a dupe post too, that making your mods lives easier.) This isn't a bad idea, but 1) I don't think it's possible with ProBoards, and 2) it could be abused in so many ways. For example, someone could make a controversial thread, and then delete it as soon as they see something they disagree with. Or, like TimeLink said, they can post offensive things and then hide the evidence. I'll talk about it with the other staff, though, if it's possible. also, staff should NOT be hiding their online status I'll admit that I do this, but only because I don't want people PMing me every time I'm online to ask me to look at their levels. Not gonna name any names but some staff members seem very inactive. One thing though: can you actually remove reported posts? Even if that user gets warned or told not to do it again (which I have no idea how much it actually happens), the post(s) should still be removed. You're right about the first point, and I personally think the staff could use some rearranging. The point of removing reported posts was brought up earlier, and I personally don't think it's really necessary, but I'll do it if you guys want it to happen. Maybe improve your constructivity and maturity as an owner. That's all I have to say. I don't say that you weren't constructive or mature enough to post in the forum. I meant the question to be for the forums (mostly the staff) as a whole, but thanks for the advice. I'll try.

Calm your tits with rule 6. I can get that necroposting can be kind of annoying, but what's even more annoying is people going insane over the fact that it was a necropost and distracting and wasting the time of moderators, and getting the thread locked as a result even when it was still not derailed into madness because of these whining idiots.

Or, like TimeLink said, they can post offensive things and then hide the evidence. I'll talk about it with the other staff, though, if it's possible. Addressing the points you brought up. If it is impossible for ProBoards to add then well I guess thats that. It seems kind of silly that ProBoards wouldn't allow fourms to do that though, its such a useful tool. For number 2, I understand those concerns and its as simple as giving mods the ability to see any "deleted" threads. In my original post I should have adressed this. When someone "deletes" a thread made by them it shouldent actually be deleted, just hidden to every person who isnt a mod. When someone dose "delete" a thread there should be a indicator to mods that shows so, just so they know its invisible. Then it can be further evaluated from there. Also adding to that, simply add a rule that says not to "delete" threads if you suddenly deem them offensive or if you are "triggered" by it. Possibly doing that would give some warning. This would solve both the "hide the evidence" and the removing due to disagreeing with a comment, concern as the mods can evaluate weather the thread was correctly "deleted". Then again none of this matters if its not possible in the first place I really hope it is though.

I find that in my timezone (EST), there is one or no staff on at all. I mean sometimes there is the odd 5 admins on moment, but I would like to see more staff activity. Us ordinary commonwealth of the forum need it most. Thank you.
